About Gabrielle
Bonjour a tous!

Dear Students,

A native French speaker, I have been tutoring students of all levels since 2008. I was the main French and German Instructor at the San Jose Learning Center in the Silicon Valley before moving to New York.

The core of my lessons are drawn from language books, which allows everyone to work at his or her own pace during the week. This is supplemented by tailored PDFs that target your particular interests.

Lessons always begin with a dialogue, no matter your level. From how you are feeling, to what you did during the week, to the weather of your best f
riend's gossip, we warm up with a conversation I type out as we go.

The rest of the lesson is then spent reviewing previous work and introducing new material in a variety of ways, constantly setting a rule in practice. Poems, songs or texts, depending on your interest, keep the content alive and interesting.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I hope to hear from you, meet you, and work with you!

Sincerely,
Gabrielle

Our 3yo, and 8yo are half Latino and we didn’t want them to miss out on their spanish, they enjoy classes with Miss Ana and she has a lot of patience with them and brings spanish activities to keep them entertained and eager to learn, she gave us as parents many tips on how to keep their brain learning the language on the daily by changing language on tablets, putting cartoons/tv in Spanish only and books.

About Susannah
My name is Susannah Storie and I teach English and Arabic. I studied both at the University of Arkansas. I majored in English and minored in Arabic - that is 30 credit hours of Modern Standard Arabic. I also spent time in the Middle East teaching English to kids and studying Arabic. This is beneficial because I not only know and understand Arabic grammar, but I also know and understand colloquial levantine/shami Arabic dialect.

I taught English by emersion to students who only spoke Arabic and on the week nights, I took Arabic lessons. I can teach the Arabic alphabet and basic grammar. Th
is will help with pronunciation and the formation of sentences. It is a great foundation and I welcome anyone who wants to learn as little or as much Arabic as they like!

English is my native language and I have spent time teaching it as a second language before (ESL). I like to use the Growing Participator Approach in my lessons but this will take time dedication. The GPA is an approach that teaches language the way we learn it naturally as babies. As you "grow" in the language, it will become internalized as language does as we grow up.

I also studied English grammar and literature in college, spend quite a bit of time writing, and actually enjoy wiring essays. I would love to teach you how to write an effective essay that you'll actually enjoy writing!

Susannah is such a great instructor! Very patient, fun, and knowledgable of the language! I definitely recommend her because you will learn a lot, and have a great time while doing so! She also has real life experience using Arabic, living among native speakers--so she brings a lot to the table!
