About Trevor
Every musician was first and foremost a fan of music. My love of
music began when my mother took me to a performance of Beethoven's
fifth symphony when, coincidentally, I was five. From that point, I
started fervently listening to my mother's records (those are the
huge, black monstrosities that people in the pre-historic used in
place of iPods), followed closely by my father's CD collection.
After a while, this ravenous desire of to know and feel music moved
me to play an instrument. After a couple of false starts with the
drums and violin, I found my true musical calling: the gui
tar.

On January 25th 1995, on a whim, I began playing the
guitar, and I have yet to put it down. Along the way I've picked up
a number of friends for my guitar, including the bass, the lute, the
sitar and, once again, the drums. After only a few years of
practice, I started playing professionally, in bands and solo guitar.
Live playing experience, I believe, is the most important experience
that any musician can have, in that, the most important part of music
is how it sounds, and playing in front of people is the quickest way
to learn how to play effectively. And this is what I teach; how to
be a musician, not just a technician.

*** Lesson Details ***
A student can expect a curriculum tailor-made to their needs and personality. Every person learns differently and this is an important distinction in my teaching style. Some students need a strong hand to keep them working, others need to find many different ways to the same conclusion to keep them focused, while still others need a laid-back friend in order to accept knowledge.

I stress rhythmic literacy, for, as my jazz teacher always said, "rhythm is king." If composition is important to you, then we'll focus on music theory, but if you're just wanting to learn how to play some fun rock tunes with your friends on the weekends, we can do that as well. As I stated before, we'll get you playing in front of people in no time.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide an amplifier, a loner guitar (if needed), staff and/or tablature paper, metronome, pens and paper for the lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Music theory and composition, guitar, bass, lute, beginner to intermediate piano
Classical, shred, blues, and rock guitar; renaissance lute; blues, rock and slap bass; composition of many styles; world music.

About Anosh
I am currently a math major and I have finished math classes all the way to transformation geometry (proof-based). Currently, I'm enrolled in number theory. I have gotten mostly A's and B's in my math classes. I am able to help out students of any age up to Multivariable Calculus 2. I am also able to travel at most 15 miles out of my city (Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino) and am very patient when it comes to teaching math, as I understand it can be a difficult and frustrating subject.

About Rachel
Hello!

Are you looking for some help with elementary level math or reading? Do you need assistance with writing or editing a high school or college paper? Are you interested in learning a language like English, Spanish, or Portuguese? Or do you just need some supplemental lessons to really help you understand your class material?

Then contact me!

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelors degree in International Studies, Spanish, and Global Cultures. While an undergraduate, I studied abroad in Ecuador. I also received a Certificate in Youth Development fr
om the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as a Certificate in Conversational Portuguese from Liberty University. I continue to further my education by taking Public Policy masters courses from Liberty University.

I am passionate about learning, and I delight in helping others succeed in their academic and language pursuits. For over 14 years, I have been tutoring clients of all ages in various subjects. In Lithuania, I taught youth conversational English. While in college, I took several elementary education courses, assisted other college students with their homework, and tutored grade school students in math and reading. Following graduation, I continued to work with younger students in an after-school program setting, and for several years I have been teaching private language lessons to adults and children.

While I tutor several subjects, I really enjoy helping clients learn a new language. In this globalized world, I believe that learning another language is invaluable; being able to communicate in a non-native tongue not only improves your self-confidence, but it also helps you see the world from a new perspective. I love that knowing foreign languages has given me insight into other cultures and allowed me to form deep relationships with people who do not know any English.

In my language classes you will receive assistance with:
• understanding content
• clarity in writing
• vocabulary
• cultural comprehension
• grammar
• sentence structure

As a teacher, I delight in helping my students find success, and I strive to create a relaxed, fun, and happy classroom. I work with you at your pace and tailor lessons to your needs. It is my goal for you to have a better grasp of the subject matter and to equip you with the tools you need to succeed.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures, being creative, going on outdoor adventures, playing cards and board games, singing and dancing, reading, and watching movies.

Experience & Education:
• 14+ years experience tutoring Spanish, Conversational English, ESL, Elementary/Middle School/college subjects, writing/editing papers
• 20+ years speaking Spanish with experience living in a Spanish-speaking country
• University of Wisconsin graduate with 3.9 GPA
• B.A. in Spanish, International Studies, and Global Cultures
• Public Policy masters courses
• Elementary Education courses
• Portuguese courses
