I am a dharma holder (Zen master) in Rinzai Zen, a certified Path to Freedom facilitator, and have authored two books on Buddhism and meditation: "Wisdom, Compassion, Serenity: First Steps on the Buddhist Path," and "Loving Heart, Peaceful Mind," a workbook for developing the four Brahma-Viharas using traditional meditation techniques along with self-exploration methods adapted from Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy and Japanese psychotherapy. I have led meetings of a Central Florida Buddhist community for 10 years, and speak regularly at Buddhist meetings, Unitarian Churches and other venues.

I have been taking Liam's Tai Chi/ Qi Gong class for nearly two years now. He is a dynamic teacher that is sensitive to different types of learning paces and styles (both eastern and western) and employs both in his classes. His explanations are simple and he always relates the movement back to its origin as a martial arts defense/offensive move which helps one establish the intention behind the movement. I have learned yang short form and chen style short form from him. I would highly recommend that you take his class if you are interested in beginning or continuing a tai chi practice. Through my practice I have found a healthy way to manage stress and anxiety.

The technique will be decided upon based on the student's needs and intentions. Qi Gong is a life force energy practice that's been used by healers and warriors for over 5000 years in China. I teach Shaolin Cosmos Qi Gong, as is taught my by own teacher, Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, who authorized me to teach.

Shaolin Cosmos Qi Gong focuses on the essential skills of: entering a Qi Gong state of mind, smiling from the heart, generating and enjoying a flow of cosmic energy and standing meditation. This style of Qi Gong is excellent for reducing stress, improving health, enhancing vitality and mental clarity.

In private lessons, you will learn some of the best Qi Gong exercises from a set called "18 Hands of Lohan" and all the essential skills for a lifelong practice on your own. Cosmos Qi Gong can be practiced just about anywhere, and after learning the art you will be able to practice on your own.

In my own practice I have experienced a total shift in my life, and in large part owe the peace and joy I experience every day to Grandmaster Wong and this Qi Gong.

I earned my music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I focused on performance, education and ear training. My principal instrument is drum set, but I also enjoy playing guitar and ukulele. I started teaching private drum lessons when I was in high school, taught music for two years at a small school in the Galapagos Islands and spent some time working at a school for students with severe disabilities where I also taught music. Most of my schooling was in contemporary styles like Jazz, Latin, Blues and Rock, but I very much enjoy music from around the world. Lately some of my favorites are: Qawwali, Kirtan, Balkan and Moroccan music.

I believe firmly in the teaching principle of "Rote Before Note." Reading sheet music is certainly a great skill, but having ears that are tuned in is the greatest asset for a music
ian. I start by teaching without sheet music so that students start focusing on listening, start developing musical memory and because it's great fun! Because I studied music education in college and have worked in schools, I know how to develop an appropriate curriculum for each student.

For students that stick with me or are already established on their instrument, we will work on incorporating deeper concepts into their music, such as, "How can you make your playing fluid like water?" "How would you demonstrate Yin Yang harmony in your playing?"
