Abstract Painting uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Abstract art, non figurative art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art are loosely related terms. They are similar, but perhaps not of identical meaning.
About Mayra
30 yrs Experienced, International/Contemporary artist based in San Diego CA. Available for eager students of all experience levels. "I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of abstract expressionistic/freestyle techniques.
I specialize in high quality acrylic-oil-metallic-chalk paints, and heavy duty mediums. I typically use medium size to large flat brushes, metal mixing-knives, varnish, resin, silicone and or floetrol.
I like to practice my choice of colors on an old canvas or simply on watercolor paper prior being used on a canvas or a wood panel or my choice.
My favorite tools to use as color reference are HGTV Magazines, Real Simple Magazines, Dwell Magazines, House & Homes Magazines, Color book palett

—The more ADVANCED artist benefits by exploring their own personal style. Finding your own artistic voice can be challenging in a group and sharing a new direction with other students can be overwhelming. Watercolor, acrylic, oil painting.

Lessons would be individualized to focus on areas that need the most guidance.
About Melissa
I've taught all age groups from age 2 up to retirees. My teaching experience includes one-on-one and group classes in a variety of settings. I've taught corporate classes, private lessons, small groups, and traditional classroom lessons.
We have a student-centric philosophy of learning. Lessons are generally relaxed and designed to work towards accomplishing student determined goals. While all students will study similar fundamentals regarding technique, theory, and performance, every lesson is as different as every person. Special focus on topics like music theory, self-accompaniment, composition, song writing, and home recording are available as well.
What are your personal goals? We'll tell you what you need to do to get there, and help you take the steps to achieve your aspirations.
Lessons with small children are more focused on just having fun while developing a good musical foundation, but we prefer for them to have as much personal ownership of their lesson as possible.

I've been doing water color painting for years and would love to help you. For the first three lessons, I can bring the supplies, but after that most people want to have their own supplies so I've recommend buying your own.
About Lily
The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. I have students work on their own individual projects that they pick out while asking me questions that they might have while they are doing their project.
However, if they would like there is an option for me to develop lessons for the student on certain sewing techniques that the student could learn. Although, be aware that learning how to sew takes time and that all the techniques of sewing cannot be done all at once.
Then, there is the third option that the lesson could be a mix of the student doing what they want (choosing their own project) and learning some pre-designed
My first goal is to give my students all of the tools they need to feel confident from the very first lesson. I would like for all of my students within the first lesson to finish either of two basic projects (pajama pants or a draw string bag).
My lessons are not like videos you may find online. Meaning projects will take longer than you think they will. I will work with you to properly construct a quality finished project without too many frustrations and in a timely manner. I recommend buying lessons in 90 minute packages, since sewing always takes longer than expected.

About Roya
My name is Roya. I am a professional artist and educator, and I’m a professor in painting and drawing. It would be my pleasure to teach you painting or drawing. Over the last 10 years, I have taught painting and drawing, including figure drawing and painting courses in universities and colleges.
I’m using 2 different teaching strategy based on my students interest.
In the first plan, I start to teach from basic to advanced technique; my goal at the beginning stage is to provide students with enough skills and technique that they can skillfully begin making art from 3- dimensional sources, not just copying from other arts.
In the second path, I start teaching any subject or technique that my student prefer like pastel landscape or oil painting portrait.
I teach a variety of technique, medium and styles from rea

About Loren P.
CloseAs a teacher for 7 years one of my favorite things is bringing the arts into teaching. I've taught infants through adults, beginners and advanced, and the one secret I can absolutely tell you about learning, is if you are happy then you are going to learn a lot more! I'm excited to get to know you and make you smile!
Creating watercolor herbs and floral design, as well as calligraphy is something I like to focus on. If you are interested in creating cute designs that are similar to the “Magnolia Market” style, then you’ll really enjoy my lessons.
About Loren
Why do I like to bring art and music into the learning journey? Let me tell you one of the biggest secrets I've dis
Speaking of the arts, I play guitar, ukulele, charango, piano, and I sing! I've been a musician since 2000, and I've successfully turned a hobby into something my husband and I have been doing full time for several years. For beginners, something that works best is taking a song that you LOVE and turning it into your anthem on the instrument of your choice. So pick your song and message me!
Last but not least, I'm a painter. Painting is my favorite part of any day. About my childhood, I can candidly say I had the best stepmom. She would let me take her enormous canvases, oil paints, and brushes and just let me at it. Of course at first they were all of my hand prints and rainbows, but she got me curious, and eventually we started going to museums. I've seen Vangogh, Monet, Divinci, Picasso, and many more as they toured through our city. I began to study their techniques and grow my gift. My "Mama Sue" gifted me a hunger for creativity and excellence, and I can't thank her enough. Painting with me, you will grow in your technique, skill, and confidence, and pick up a little artist history along the way.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you accomplish your dreams!
