About Mia
I am a professional singer and actress with opera and musical theater credits. Singing is my passion! I love to sing, and I LOVE to teach others to sing! The human voice is the most natural instrument of all, and helping others to bring out the beauty of the natural instrument that lies within them is something to which I am very devoted. I like to make students feel comfortable and at ease in lessons, and you will find that I am very warm and friendly!

Every student is unique, with their own strengths, their own areas for improvement, and their own preference for certain styles of singing. I can help you find what style makes your heart sing!

I have a broad range of credits, including the Broadway National Tour of Fiddler On The Roof with Theodore Bikel (Tzeitel understudy), and Off-Broadway in Fiorello (Marie) and The Rose Ta
ttoo (Flora). Among my many regional credits are Oliver at the Chiswick Park Theater in Sudbury, MA (Nancy), Camelot with Noel Harrison at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, MA (Nimue/Guinevere understudy), and Is There Life After High School with Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Sharon Lawrence at the Burt Reynolds Theater in Jupiter, FL. I currently hold the post of Soloist at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Needham, and am a Guest Soloist for The Mother Church in Boston. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and have received additional training with many renowned pedagogues, including mezzo-soprano Sondra Kelly, and coaches Arlene Shrut from the Juilliard School, Michelle Alexander with Boston Lyric Opera, and Roger Malouf with the Metropolitan Opera.

Mia is an absolutely outstanding teacher. I came in for my first lesson horrified to sing, not knowing anything about performing. And in just a few months of learning with Mia I was cast in my first show. Fast forward a few more months and I have been accepted to the college of my choice in their Musical Theater program. In just a year she has helped me achieve my goals that seemed so out of this world to me in the beginning but now are a reality. She is not only amazing at the technical stuff, but she is so genuinely invested in helping you be the best that you can be. She changed my life and I'm so grateful to her.

About Stan
Hi! I am a private music instructor offering lessons both in-studio and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music (Summa cum Laude) and I have over 36 years' full-time experience as an instructor.

I also have over four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages, as well as television studios, radio stations, and many recording studios.

Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.

**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****

My teaching style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and results.

I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Each lesson is customized to mak
e the most of each student's own unique abilities, limitations, preferences, and interests. Whether students prefer, or do better with, traditional materials, playing/singing along with their favorite recordings, improvisation, or anything in between, I am more than happy to accommodate and bring out each student’s best!

I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on the Beatles One album ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.

**** MY STUDIO ****

My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummers going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.

**** STYLES / GENRES ****

I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.

My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged!

**** MY STUDENTS ****

Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.

Do you have a song or two in your heart. Contact me today and I will help you reach your musical goals and have a good time doing it!

Brian Hickey was my high school drama instructor for 4 years and if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be pursing a theatre career. His training made me a more confident actress, and his faith in me made me a more confident person. He taught me to lend myself to the story, to be a generous actress and to make bold choices. I highly recommend this incredible teacher!

Mr. Hickey is simply incredible. I wouldn't be in the musical theatre program I'm in at college if I didn't study with him for four years. I learned so much useful skills and the level he taught at for my education level pushed us students at the right speed and difficulty. So thank you.

About Alyssa
I'm a singer and actress from Raleigh, North Carolina. I have extensive experience in the theatre world including assistant teaching, musical directing, assistant directing and interning. I have received numerous vocal awards over the years, from organazations such as NATS and Hal Leonard. In addition, I have been cast in many professional shows, and training programs. Let me know if you'd like to see a copy of my resume.

When studying with me, a student can expect to feel heard and understood. I can work with any vocal issue, including tension, breathing, resonance, etc. While my specialty is healthing belting, I also have a history of classical training, which I use when teaching legit musical theatre styles. I am still in the industry, and so have a finger on the pulse of what directors, casting agents and studios are looking for.

In
addition to musical theatre, I also teach pop, jazz and worship styles. Each voice is unique and beautiful, and I will work with you to become the best (and healthiest) that you can be while still staying true to your natural sound.

Whether you are at a professional level, or just looking to have some fun, I would love to work with you. As your teacher, I can create a customized warm-up track for your voice, which will help you improve daily. This can be used throughout the week to practice. Upon request, I can also send a weekly "homework" packet with a written summary of our lesson that day. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more relaxed approach, I can do that as well. Whether you want to be pushed or start slow, I'll be right there with you.

Hi, I'm Tony Nominated Broadway Producer Stephanie Rosenberg, and I believe you deserve to have your dream. Whether you are starting out as a child actor or a professional here in NYC, you deserve to make it happen.

I look at my job as being a support system to give you the tools to help you get there. My teaching modalities come from Sandford Meisner, Stanislavski, and many of the other great teachers.

We look at your skill set to identify what is working for you. What should you keep, and celebrate. (Learning to act is a lot of work and it can be fun!). From there what needs to be adjusted becomes very apparent and we can start to tackle those elements one by one. We can also take the time to look at your career goals, and create a game plan to get there. This career is a journey.

The key is that you come out with skills you c
an rely on, repeat, and apply as you grow in your art form; as well create a performing confidence that will support you throughout your artistic journey.\

For private coaching in the NYC area, I teach out of many of the Professional Rehearsal Studios in NYC, such as: Shetler Studios; Ripley Grier; Simple Studios; Pearl, etc...Virtual coaching is also available.
