My passion is teaching languages. I am a certified teacher, and I enjoy working with students from different backgrounds and cultures. I believe every student has a talent, whether it is academic, artistic, or logical, and I bring out that talent through my personalized lessons. It does not matter how old you are or what language level you are at, we can have a great time learning a new language together. 

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish education and a Master's Degree in teaching foreign languages, and I am working on my PhD in Applied Linguistics. The subjects I offer are Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Romanian.

We will start by reviewing how to describe objects and rooms in the house. By the end of this lesson, you will also be able to use the verb “tener" to talk about the household objects you have. Finally, you will be able to describe the chores you do within the house using “tener que”.

I studied abroad in Spain and Ecuador and worked with immigrants in my local community.  My BA degree is in Spanish education from Samford University and my MA in teaching foreign languages with Michigan State University.  I have also completed graduate work in Spanish literature at UNC Chapel Hill.  I am now working on a PhD in  applied linguistics.

I just love Carmen's enthusiasm, dedication to share her knowledge with me, and her way of making sure we maximize our time together!
