About Rob
I am an easy going, knowledgable and creative teacher. I strive to put the students and their personal needs first. I'm very aware that each student/person learns differently and I incorporate various strategies of learning into my lessons. There is a lot of humor and dialogue with my lessons, allowing my students the freedom to be themselves while playing.

As a school teacher, I have lots of experience in building student confidence and knowledge. If you aren't confident then you aren't progressing!

I like to record my students at different intervals of their education so they can hear the progress! I email a lesson recap after every lesson so that the student can see what we learned that week, including any notes/attachments for the student to review.

I also encourage my students to text/email/ or call with any questi
ons/concerns between lessons. This gives my students the ability to get through a challenging or difficult concept/strategy when its happening and not have to wait till the next lesson.

About Rose
Hello, I am Rose from Antioch. Well, I am originally from France. I've just been imported by my sweet husband Jeff in March 2017.

I teach French and sewing and even sewing in French if you want ! That's ideal if you want to go on an internship or even work in the fashion industry in Paris !

To tell you more about my passion for sewing, I believe I must just have been born with the talent of sewing. I remember my mom running after me as she was scared that I would pock my eyes with her needles... Already at that age I was stuck to the TV obsessed with the Parisian fashion shows at each fashion seasons. But you know what ?

Interestingly enough I am not so much into fashion anymore because I have discovered the importance of wearing the right type of clothing specifically made for each of us. You know, sewing clothing stays the same
whether we are into fashion or not, it really doesn't matter. I'd be happy to share more about that with you.
I also enjoy sewing house items and I like to figure out easy and fast ways to sew these items as well as clothing for children.

I'd be happy to meet you at your house or in mine or online, as you wish.
If you are looking to gain basic sewing skills fast then you found the right person because I have created a course that is specifically designed for that. First we'll learn everything about your sewing machine. Then you will be able to learn how to draw a pattern to cover a book of your choice, sew a zip, buttons, a sewing bag, a simple pin cushion and a little dress that includes pockets as well as bias binding on the armholes. At the end of this few weeks course together you will receive videos of the whole course that you will be able to watch over and over for free as you keep perfecting your new skill. The only thing is that these videos are still in French ;-) My French students have shared with me how happy they were with the details of that course.

And just with these basics you will be able to sew hundreds of items ! Isn't that cool !? Plus, to make it easier for you, I have prepared all the supplies for you in a kit for an extra cost. Ask me about it.

If we meet in person, a minimum of 2 hours per session usually works best.
As for online teaching I have a very good webcam that shows great close up details.

About Laura
I am a bit of an unconventional teacher. I like to hear my lessons around my students best ability to learn. My courses are set at a very comfortable pace and are laid back. I have been contracted to sew costuming that had to pass as historically correct.

Hand sewing a costume for an actress playing Queen Elizabeth the first. Everything had to be hand-sewn from the undergarments to the seven layers that consists of a historically correct tutor costume. I have some pieces for reenactors. I have also been contracted to so for an exhibit in several museums. I have customers all over the world. I also have experience in creating patterns from photos alone or someone's drawing.

I like to share my love of history and sewing. I do this through teaching and sharing. I love to see the excitement in someone's eyes when they put they're very firs
t project on. The fit and comfort of a homemade, handmade item surpasses anything that you can get, unless you go to a Couture shop. Couture sewing is a dying art. One I hope to at least bring more interest in. You're wanting to learn how to make anything from Kilts to Jerkins or corsets to a smart 40s dress suit and everything in between this is the place.

With pattern-making we will learn how to take patterns off of clothes that we love. You know that shirt that fits beautifully but they don't make it anymore. I will also go over some ways to find inexpensive material that still gives you the wow factor.
