Hi! My name is Preeti and I have been knitting and teaching others to knit since I was a teenager. I love the creative outlet of knitting and the joy of sharing that skill whether as a teacher or as the organizer of my friends' craft circle. I am a transplant from Chicago now living in New York for the last 6 years, where I just completed graduate studies at NYU. 

My teaching style is hands-on and detailed and I can't wait to help you learn this amazing skill! I am available for in-home or online lessons at the basic or intermediate level. You can select from pre-made lesson plans or work with me to build your own lesson or tackle a project you've been wanting to try. You can be a total beginner or looking to learn a new technique, I am here to work with you!

Please note for in-home lessons for minors a parent or other authorized guardian must be at home.

Getting that first row of yarn onto your needles is the most challenging part of learning how to knit. This class will cover in-depth and step-by-step one of the many methods of casting on. The 2-Needle is a classic cast-on method which creates a soft, round edge for your knit work. 
Materials: 
1. Size US 10 Straight Knitting Needles OR Size US 10, 24"" Circular Knitting Needles
2. 1 ball yarn* 
A: Weight - Worsted or DK
B: Material - Cotton or Wool
*we highly recommend a light colored yarn as it is easier to see the stitches.

Whether you are a total beginner or looking to learn new knitting techniques, I am here to help! You can choose from standard lesson plans I have developed or we'll work together to make customized lessons to master a specific skill or complete a project.

My 14 year old daughter enjoyed Preeti's class and wants to take more classes from her. She is very patient and friendly.
