I'm a class B (almost class A) player who has been playing chess competitively for the last few years, though I've been playing the game since I was a child. I regularly play in competitive over-the-board tournaments, as well as playing daily online. I am currently in the top 1% of players on Chess.com. I have an International Master as a coach, so I am constantly learning myself and I understand what it's like to be a student of the game. 
I can analyze student's games, identify weak areas of play, and develop a personalized routine to help you improve. Every day, I dedicate hours of studying to chess openings, tactics, chess history, endgames, and strategic concepts, and I am eager to teach this information to others.

Akiba Rubinstein was one of the best players of all time to never become World Champion. Rubinstein lived in the first half of the twentieth century; what can we learn from him today? In this one-off class we will see Rubinstein demonstrate the importance of efficiency in chess and treat us to some fireworks!

I'm a passionate chess player and full-time chess coach with an extensive knowledge of chess theory who specializes in teaching beginner/intermediate (up to ~1600 USCF) players of all ages. Lessons will be personalized to focus on student's weaknesses and areas of needed improvement, as well as generalized chess instruction. In our lessons, we'll analyze full games (games that you've played as well as master-level games), study opening and endgame theory, and practice tactical motifs to improve all aspects of your play.
Chess is a great platform to improve critical thinking skills and one's ability to focus, as well as a great way to have fun. As an adult learner, I understand that getting into chess (especially later in life) can be a bit daunting. I'm here to help remove the stress from chess learning and to make the process fun and enjoyable. My lessons will help you or your children gain a deeper understanding of the art of chess and improve your confidence and ability to play the game.
