I'm a believer that almost anyone can learn to play music well, and guitar is no exception. It's something which seems difficult at first, but has a series of specific steps (like any instrument) which take the mystery out of it, and get you playing in no time! I love seeing students improve on this instrument and seeing how much fun they have once they begin to play songs they love.
I'm a life-long musician with a passion for the art and a love of teaching it. In 2012, I graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelors in Music. Through my schooling and personal study, I have become a well-rounded musician able to teach many instruments effectively. Making music with others

If you want to learn how to compose your own original music, I'm the teacher for you! I have experience teaching music—composition, music theory, ear training, flute lessons, and beginner piano—to K-12 and adult students. In our first meeting, we'll discuss your goals and go from there, whether those goals are learning to compose solely for your own enjoyment, or preparing to apply to college or graduate music programs. I'm quite flexible in my teaching style: for students who are at the beginning stages and/or want more structure, I can devise lots of fun exercises and assignments. For more self-guided students, I'm happy to simply look at and discuss what you bring in for each lesson.
A little more about me: I just received my PhD with departmental distinction in music composition and theory from UC Davis. I've taken private drum and piano lessons myself, which has given me a great understanding of all musical areas with a strong focus on rhythm. I've played a lot of different kinds of gigs in a lot of different locations and settings, including Spain and New York. I've been teaching since 2012. When I teach, I try to tailor my lessons to each individual student. If the student is willing to work hard to improve, I'm willing to work just as hard to keep the student improving.
Students will learn their favorite songs with music and by ear. Studio days are available to record the students performing the songs when ready and you get to keep the recordings to showcase your improvement!
Advanced students also welcome. I have challenges for everyone.
We can meet and talk in person before starting lessons to make sure it's a good fit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Many students find learning a language hard or boring. Sign language is a very expressive and beautiful language. Some teachers are boring but I get creative and make learning fun for people that want to lean ASL
To my future students welcome!! I can't wait to get to know you! My name is Nicole, ASL is my favorite language because it's very expressive. I am hard of hearing and have a speech impediment which makes sign language easier for me to use. Fun fact #1 I was inspired to learn ASL from my deaf cous
My almost 10yr old son took it with me as he's been wanting to learn sign language to help him communicate. He's ADHD and gets frustrated super fast and likes to communicate non verbally when he's mad so we've been looking to learning "officially". We learned today the colors of the rainbow along with his favorite color gold, numbers and letters. We hope to take a paid class soon when we have discretionary funds :)

Interested in trying your hand at jewelry design? Before you begin, consider the following 5 questions, as outlined by Nashville jewelry designer and teacher Warren F... Susan felt very unsure of herself. And unsure of her jewelry. Would people like it? Was the color mix appropriate? Was the construction secure? Was the price smart and fair? The end of the game has come. You have successfully out-maneuvered and outfought your opponent, conquering large swaths of the chessboard, and approaching that triumphal moment when you will topple the opponent’s king and declare that he has fallen---in other words, a checkmate (recall that “checkmate” is an anglicization of “shah mat”, Persian for “the king is dead”)… Only to realize that you don’t quite know how to finish the game, which inevitably results in a slapsti …
