As a French native passionate about the English language, my life has been bilingual for more than 15 years now. Born into a family of writers, my love of words and communication started at a young age, and I have been lucky enough to make my life revolve around it. A professional translator, I am well versed in the subtleties of both languages and what it takes to transition from one to the other. I can help any student master the grammar differences and learn French not only on an academic level, but also on a cultural one. While I can definitely provide help for French academic studies, I will also make it possible for you to speak and understand the "French of the street", as too often people are stunted in their understanding of the natives by the overly formal way they were taught. When I was learning English, I used music and poetry as a mean to acquire vocabulary and grammar, and I know that's how I managed to retain a lot of information in a very short period of time. I believe learning a language comes much faster when there is an interest beyond the language itself, which is why I will ask you a number of questions about your hobbies and passions, as well as offer you a variety of French singers to listen to and chose from, and tailor my approach around those things. I will adjust my classes to the student's level and needs, and am open to any specific demands you might have. I can also assist you in planning your trip to Paris, as I have lived in the city for 30 years and have intimate knowledge of it. I also provide classes in acting, belly dancing, knitting, spinning (spindle and wheel), and embroidery.
