    About Dominique S.

I have been tutoring students for over 3 years now. I've worked with all age ranges: elementary school, high school and adults. I know how to cater lesson plans to the student's learning style and am excited to see students develop a passion for learning and see their confidence grow in a certain subject! *** Lesson Details *** Lesson plans are really going to vary depending on the student. No matter what subject you're needing tutoring in, we'll first evaluate to see where your skills are now and then go step-by-step to improve your skills. *** Specialties *** I have been a reading and English tutor since I was in high school. I became an ESL tutor and Spanish tutor while in college. I've worked with students both one-on-one and in small groups settings.

    Experience

    Reading Coach

    Sep, 2005 - Jun, 2009

    Roxhill Elementary School

For four years, I worked with second and third graders that were not reading at grade level. I would work with students one-on-one to get not only improve their reading skills, but their confidence. I wanted them to enjoy reading, not see it as a challenge.

    English Tutor

    May, 2011 - May, 2013

    Lewis & Clark College

I was a tutor for the Academic English Studies Department. I would work with students both one-on-one and in small group settings. I also worked closely with the professors at the college to determine what the best needs of the students were, to see if we should focus on reading, writing, pronunciation, etc.
