About Me

I am a certified music therapist (MT-BC), vocal instructor (BS in Classical Voice), certified yoga instructor (200+) and Reiki master. I am a professional freelance editor, working on a collection of nonfiction essays. I am a meditation guide. All of the subjects I teach through TakeLessons are related to one of the aforementioned areas. I am a person who finds joy in a variety of places, and I truly love what I do.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances and developmental delays.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance.

I have worked professionally as an editor of scholarly writing on both the college and post-college level, as well as a professional editor of multiple dissertations, and other publications. Being a creative person, I find language to be a wonderful way to express thoughts and emotions as well as communicate deeply with others.

As a certified yoga instructor, I teach in many locations throughout Westchester. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I offer private yoga instruction and meditation at my home studio. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized classes offered to deepen your experience.

Accompaniment, Audition Prep, Classical Piano, Flexibility Training, Harp, Music Performance, Music Theory, Piano, Pilates

About Me

Hi! I am a soloist, chamber music artist, and music teacher based in Las Vegas, and I currently have openings in my studio for private music students! I would love to share my love of music with you.

I have over fifteen years of experience teaching piano and harp lessons to students of all ages and levels. As a doctoral candidate at Indiana University, I have the background and capability to teach beginning to advanced students. With a doctoral minor field in music theory, I provide my students with a thorough understanding of how music actually works.

I have earned national recognition as a winner of several major music competitions, including the American Harp Society Young Professional Competition, the Anne Adams Awards, and the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition. I have also been a strong competitor in several international harp competitions. I have performed throughout the US, including at Carnegie Hall, as well as at the World Harp Congresses in Geneva and Dublin.

I have been privileged to study with wonderful, internationally respected teachers. I enjoy sharing my love of music with my students. I encourage all my students to play their best and to learn pieces that they enjoy and that challenge them, while keeping the experience fun and nurturing.

I believe that no matter what someone's goals are in playing music, learning to play an instrument teaches important life skills. Among those skills are discipline; efficiency in completing a task (or practicing a particular piece); developing strategies to approach large projects, such as a paper or a large musical work; and how to stick with something, even if it is difficult. In that vein, one of my foremost priorities as a teacher is to help my students learn to teach themselves. I seeks a balance between challenging my students and cultivating a sense of camaraderie and playful exploration.

*** Lesson Details ***
For beginning piano students, I use the Faber method.

Lessons typically include music theory. Students will be given clear assignments to practice and complete.

About Me

I have always loved to dance. Even before I started taking classes I would choreograph dances for myself and my dolls. I began dancing competitively in 2002. In summer 2007 I was selected to be a part of Team Rave, a professional children's dance team. In 2009, I won 1st overall as a soloist at Celebrity Dance Competition, Nationals at Sea.

I continued to dance in High School and led our dance team as a captain my senior year. During this time I also attended many workshops and conventions including CAHPERD, The Pulse on Tour, and The Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive.

After graduating High School I danced for the Inland Empire 66ers Dance Team in San Bernadino, CA. I started taking dance classes at MiraCosta in 2011. I had many incredible opportunities including performance, choreography, and the privilege of attending The American College Dance Festival in 2012. In spring 2014 I completed an AA Degree in Dance and received a Legacy Award as well as The Friends of Dance Scholarship and Award.

While attending MiraCosta I also had the opportunity to dance in 2 professional movement theatre shows. Both shows were choreographed and directed by Tsofia Gal, an Israeli Creative Arts Therapist and Certified Movement Analysts. Her work embodied the energy healing process experienced by the dancers. I danced a supporting role in FIVE at The Hollywood Fringe Festival in July 2012. In July 2013 I danced a lead role in Perah' at The White Box Theatre.

I am also a certified Zumba Instructor.

I love sharing my passion for dance with my students. I enjoy encouraging them to improve their skills in a fun and safe environment.

About Me

I love helping others. That is what drew me to tutoring and personal training. Both allow me to meet clients where they are and help them get to where they want to go! I have experience working with a wide age range: 1.5 - 55 years old! I have worked with students on math, reading, writing, critical thinking, fine motor skills, word and letter recognition, phonics, ACT prep, Spanish, Probability & Statistics, and High School English. I have also trained various clients for weight loss, cardiovascular and muscular endurance, flexibility training, strength, fitness competitions, hip hop and tap dance. I believe with hard work and dedication, you can achieve any goal. I would love the opportunity to help you get there!

I have been tutoring formally for 3 years, but I have informally been doing it elementary school! I've always been the go-to person when one of my peers needed help with their school work. During my sessions, I like to keep it interesting for my students. For example, I work with an autistic child 1-2 day/week on reading, writing, math, money, critical thinking, following directions, and fine motor skills. Because he has a short attention span, I like to break up the written work with games and puzzles to keep him engaged. Your sessions are all about YOU and I will tailor it to your needs.
