Subjects Taught

Accompaniment, Audition Prep, Classical Piano, Flexibility Training, Harp, Music Performance, Music Theory, Piano, Pilates

About Me

Hi! I am a soloist, chamber music artist, and music teacher based in Las Vegas, and I currently have openings in my studio for private music students! I would love to share my love of music with you.

I have over fifteen years of experience teaching piano and harp lessons to students of all ages and levels. As a doctoral candidate at Indiana University, I have the background and capability to teach beginning to advanced students. With a doctoral minor field in music theory, I provide my students with a thorough understanding of how music actually works.

I have earned national recognition as a winner of several major music competitions, including the American Harp Society Young Professional Competition, the Anne Adams Awards, and the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition. I have also been a strong competitor in several international harp competitions. I have performed throughout the US, including at Carnegie Hall, as well as at the World Harp Congresses in Geneva and Dublin.

I have been privileged to study with wonderful, internationally respected teachers. I enjoy sharing my love of music with my students. I encourage all my students to play their best and to learn pieces that they enjoy and that challenge them, while keeping the experience fun and nurturing.

I believe that no matter what someone's goals are in playing music, learning to play an instrument teaches important life skills. Among those skills are discipline; efficiency in completing a task (or practicing a particular piece); developing strategies to approach large projects, such as a paper or a large musical work; and how to stick with something, even if it is difficult. In that vein, one of my foremost priorities as a teacher is to help my students learn to teach themselves. I seeks a balance between challenging my students and cultivating a sense of camaraderie and playful exploration.

About Me

Hello! Thanks for checking out my page! My name is Krista, and I'm a musical theatre actress and teacher. I grew up in Renton and attended the University of Washington, where I earned my BA in Theatre and a minor in Education. Since then, I have gone on to perform in many of Seattle's best theatres, including Seattle Musical Theatre, Lyric Light Opera, At the Ridge Theatre, Second Story Repertory, and The 5th Avenue. I love performing and believe that there is nothing like being onstage and making an audience feel something through your performance!

I have been teaching for many years at various theatre intensives and summer camps and currently teach dance, acting, and voice at two schools in the Renton area. I love people and love interacting with all ages! It is a joy to be able to pass on skills that bring me so much happiness to those who are younger or just entering the exciting world of performance! I especially enjoy doing one-on-one audition prep to make sure that that monologue or song you are going to try out with is in solid shape!

Please contact me to let me know what kind of training you are looking for (whether it be a focus on dance, audition prep, voice, etc.), and we can talk about what our lessons would entail and how I could help to best meet your interests. Looking forward to hearing from you!

About Me

Brenna is a Seattle native, lover of food, and a yoga and fitness instructor. She believes that sustainable, clean food, and attention to the body are a way of being that leads to a integrated, beautiful, and adventurous life. She first began teaching yoga and Pilates at Western Washington University when she was completing her B.S. in Community Health. She has 15+ years of dance experience that first exposed her to the practice of yoga. She is 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher, and is a certified Pilates instructor through Balanced Body. Her passion and experience in dance has led her to begin teaching high energy Barre classes.

She directed health studies at university on nutrition, and after graduation, she worked for several years as a nutrition, cooking and garden educator in the greater Seattle area. She has years of experience as a professional cook, making menus and preparing dishes in farm kitchens and large production catering kitchens.
