Learning about verbs is an important part of understanding how sentences are constructed. Verbs, on the other hand, are words that describe actions or states of being. Examples of verbs include "run," "jump," "eat," and "sleep."

To help your second grader learn about verbs, you can start by pointing out examples of these words in everyday conversation. For instance, when you're playing with your child, you might say, "Look at the puppy running in the park! Puppy is a noun because it's the name of an animal, and running is a verb because it describes what the puppy is doing."

You could ask your child to identify the verbs in a sentence or give them a list of words and ask them to sort them into categories of verbs. 

With practice, your child will become more confident in recognizing and using these important parts of speech.

How is grammar taught in school? 
The standard and traditional way grammar is typically taught is by separating the two subjects. For example, grammar is learning nouns one week and then verbs the next week, and so on and so on. This type of teaching takes weeks to learn basic foundational grammar. We implement a completely different approach.  

What sets me apart from the typical writing class? 
I believe that learning should be fun and captivating, which is why I have incorporated interactive and engaging elements into my lessons. Say goodbye to dry textbooks and monotonous lectures!
