Comparative adjectives are a fun and exciting part of grammar that 2nd graders get to learn about. These adjectives are used to compare two things or people, showing which one has more or less of a particular quality. For example, if we want to compare two dogs, we might say that one is bigger than the other, or that one is faster than the other.

To form a comparative adjective, we often add -er to the end of the adjective. So, for example, if we have the word "big," we can turn it into a comparative adjective by adding -er to make "bigger." However, some comparative adjectives are irregular, meaning they don't follow this pattern. For example, the comparative form of "good" is "better," not "gooder."

It's important to remember that when we use comparative adjectives, we are comparing two things, not three or more. So, if we want to compare three or more things, we use a different form called the superlative. 

Overall, comparative adjectives are a fun and useful tool for 2nd graders to learn in their grammar studies.

How is grammar taught in school? 
The standard and traditional way grammar is typically taught is by separating the two subjects. For example, grammar is learning nouns one week and then verbs the next week, and so on and so on. This type of teaching takes weeks to learn basic foundational grammar. We implement a completely different approach.  

What sets me apart from the typical writing class? 
I believe that learning should be fun and captivating, which is why I have incorporated interactive and engaging elements into my lessons. Say goodbye to dry textbooks and monotonous lectures!
