Jeremy A.

Casselberry, FL

About Jeremy

I am an accomplished performing musician that has experience playing many different instruments in multiple styles. I believe first and foremost that learning music should be fun and exciting with an emphasis on self exploration and communication. It's these qualities in my own musicianship that have helped me grow a true love of music and have pushed my career forward as a performer.

*** Lesson Details ***
In lessons I use a shifting curriculum that is made to work with the needs of each individual student. I firmly believe in the importance of learning to read music and learning some bas
ic music theory, in my experience this helps the student grow from being able to reproduce the music of others to eventually developing a unique style and sound. After three to six months my beginning level students typically feel comfortable enough to play with other musicians confidently.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons take place in the living room seating and a guitar are available. 1 cat and 1 small dog kept separate during lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide all of the necessary educational tools such as listening samples, and printed off hand outs. The student needs to have their own instrument, staff paper and a pencil.

Jeremy is incredibly knowledgeable in every aspect of music, I find myself learning much more than just the guitar! His methods make me feel comfortable with his teaching style and he's extremely patient with me as I'm trying to learn new chords, shapes and scales. I highly recommend someone who is ready to learn any type of instrument as he teaches all different kinds and someone who has become my friend over time! Thanks for everything Jeremy, I look forward to continuing learning!

Rebekah P.

Winter Park, FL

About Rebekah

With a degree in classical voice and over 10 years of teaching experience, I can help you reach your musical goals! Using proven methods, you can learn the techniques necessary to sing like the pros or make the ivory keys of your piano dance!

My teaching style would be best described as intense and flexible. I'm a total stickler for proper technique and classical learning theory, but I also give my students the power to choose what repertoire they work on. I often tell my pupils, "I don't really care what you're playing or singing, as long as you focus on the fundamentals learned in lesso
ns". I believe students will practice music they like, so I encourage them to pick songs they enjoy hearing. The concept that purposeful learning can be achieved using almost any repertoire is at the core of my teaching philosophy.

I went to Rebekah for recreational voice lessons and had a great time singing with her. She was patient, knowledgeable, and very easy to learn from. She always had a good approach to her lessons and different techniques for me to try to remedy any issues I was experiencing until we found the ones that worked best for me.

I would recommend her for anyone looking to take lessons, if you're just starting or have been singing for years!

About Melody

Lesson Schedule Open for Summer 2016! Reserve your spot!

I will have more time to teach this summer, and have opened up my schedule! New students may begin lessons on May 14, 2016!

Hello. My name is Melody and I am a Sophomore at Valencia College majoring in Piano Performance. I learned to play the piano as a child. A few years ago, I decided to pursue a career in music. I have completed my general education and music courses with GPA of 4.0 in all my classes, and will be graduating in May.

As for my teaching experience, I was home schooled, so I taught some of my younger siblings re
ading, mathematics, and beginning piano. I have tutored children ages 5- 13 in reading and math. I worked as a daycare teacher off and on for a few years in my twenties, teaching children ages 2- 10. Currently, I am teaching a piano class in an after school program at a middle school, as well as teaching private lessons to all ages.

I spent four years in Russia and helped some of my friends who were learning English as a foreign language.

While in Russia I studied the Russian language at the university for a year, and am proficient enough to teach beginning Russian.

On my profile I stated that I can teach students with special needs. I want to clarify that I do not have training or experience in this area, but I would be happy to try teaching children with special needs. It would be important to me to meet with the parents before the first class to discuss the special need and what I would need to know to be able to teach their child well.

(Update: I have a few students with ADHD and/or high functioning Autism. They are great kids. They enjoy playing the piano and do well with it, and I love working with them.) [April, 2016]

Justin has been teaching my 14 yr old son guitar for the last month. He has such an easiness to his personality that he has quickly developed a great connection with my son. His love for music is genuine and I can tell it is spreading to my son. He is encouraging and friendly but still maintains reasonable expectations for commitment and practice. I couldn't be happier with Justin. I would totally recommend him.

5 Famous Piano Songs You'll Instantly Recognize
The piano is a beautiful instrument, capable of playing a wide array of sounds, from soft or staccato to broadly lyrical and even grandiose and rhapsodic. This also explains why these famous piano songs are often used to accompany
3 Reasons Why Piano Players Should Also Learn the Organ
There are many reasons why a music student may find themselves learning to play piano on a keyboard rather than on a baby grand: cost, space, or simply lack of access, for example. Versatility on a range of keyboard instruments is also an extremely useful string for any pianist to have to their bow, and can lead to greater practice and public performance opportunities, and even excellent opportunities to earn a little money on the side. The organ, although not the most prevalent or popular musi
