I began singing at very young age and have never stopped :  ) I began teaching music and voice while in college and have been doing so ever since! I'm classically-trained in voice and have a versatile sound and style. I help my students to find their voice and bring it out to the people who are waiting to hear it! We always have fun through learning. I incorporate the basic fundamentals of music theory into my classes as well. I believe it's important and fun!

I'll show you how to expressed musical themes through tempo, phrasing, volume and dynamics; perform as a soloist or with ensembles.  I'll help you through the challenging parts of your song selection . As we approach the conception of music and arts together we will enhances your ability to focus and perform better anywhere!

For over 30 years, I thought that I was tone-deaf. In just the first lesson, Shanita dispelled that showed me that I can actually hear tone and sounds and pitch.  She is a terrific teacher. I am so glad that I decided to take her class as a gift to myself.

Shanita was very intuitive about my needs as a singer and even more so as a performer. I came with years of experience as a background singer, but with no confidence as a soloist/solo artist. She recognized my areas for improvement and honed in to work on those areas. Her teaching is truly tailored to the student and her experience as an artist/performer gives me the confidence that I am trusting my talents, and money, with the right person. This is my first lesson, but I feel at home and well taken care of.

From the fundamentals of scales to articulating words to performing, she’s very helpful in different aspects of singing. In each lesson, she keeps a supportive and cheerful mood. At the end of the day, it’s clear that she wants you to improve to the best of your ability.
