For online lessons Michael uses all of the latest technology including screen sharing, virtual snip and sketch and ink, lesson and practice follow up videos, and many other awesome tools to enhance the online experience.  

Michael performs at 275 functions a year, teaches 30 private bagpipe and guitar students a week, is an instructor of music at the University of Colorado at Denver, and runs his own recording studio where he composes and records music for film, video and commercials.

Michael is an incredible teacher. My fiance has never played a musical instrument before in his life and I got him a few lessons for his birthday. At first, I wasn't sure how virtual music lessons would go, but Michael is by all accounts, an incredibly engaging, funny, and knowledgeable instructor. My fiance looks forward to his weekly lessons with Michael. In particular, he enjoys learning about the history of this incredible instrument alongside the actual music theory and practical aspects of learning a new instrument. 

It has been truly incredible to witness my fiance transform in a few short weeks from someone scared of learning a new instrument to someone who is confident that he can learn a new skill provided he puts in the time and effort to practice and show up! Michael has given him the confidence and the inspiration to make amazing progress as a student. 

I highly recommend Michael as an instructor. He really makes the virtual format work and he knows how to introduce beginner musicians to the joys of learning how to express yourself on an instrument.
