We begin with exercises to develop technique and train for agility, musicality and music theory. Classical music is used but not exclusively as we explore the many different genres of music! Ear training is also offered so that the student may be able to play by ear as well as reading music.
My wife and I have been teaching piano lessons in the Kansas City area for more than 20 years. We have studios in our home; she teaches upstairs and I teach downstairs! I am currently accepting new students and welcome the opportunity to see them grow and experience the joy of piano playing. Wh

Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Wichita State University
I started playing violin at 3 years old. Wichita State University gave me the opportunity to get my Music Ed degree and start teaching lessons. I have taken over 500 lessons myself and played in many heavy gigging bands playing gigs almost every weekend. Improvising, Country, Jazz, and Rock are my specialties but I have played lots of Blues, Funk, and Latin jazz as well.
Make sure you contact me about scheduling. I have other students and a job that sometimes changes week to week. I may have other times available. Let me know.

History is the story about our parents, grandparents, grand-grandparents, and so on. Is about how did they live, how did they die and what did they accomplish.
History is about where they built their houses, how did they get along with their neighbors, the mistakes they made and how they fixed it, and all other little things that make a life.
History is about your ancestors. They could have been gold mine diggers, farmers, presidents or kings, teachers, healers or priests.
My teaching method is to make you understand how we became what we are today. If you learn this, then you will not only pass the exams but you may fall in love with the past.
Because to foresee the future you must know the past.
***Special for the COVID-19*** To help students that have registered for AP World History I created a website where I post Quizzes every day. You can find it at quizdotpapermarksdotcom or by contact me so I can send you the link. I am a certified history teacher, a writer and a bookseller.

Matt teaches my 10 year old on drums and has done an amazing job. He has instilled the basics and foundation of drumming while still holding the interest of my son. At the same time he is developing his ear and teaching him how to play and adapt to different styles of music.
I highly recommend Matt for all ages of drumming kids and adults alike."
Practice - it’s something that most developing pianists generally dread. But there is a place where practice time is a precious commodity - the music conservatory. During my time as an undergraduate piano major, signing up and getting time to reserve a practice room was a ritual in patience, cunning, and bargaining. Because there were limited spaces for students to obtain the time they needed to prepare for tests, juries, and performances, every moment to prepare at a piano was preci …
