Private Knitting Teacher

Billie began knitting at age 4. Over the decades she has knit everything from slippers, afghans, jackets, sweaters, baby clothes to dishtowels. She is a retired educational consultant who worked with parents and teachers to bring learning toys to children in their most formative years. She understands how life in our fast-paced world can lead one to feel the need to multi-task. Knitting allows you to do just that! You can have conversations or watch a film on Netflix while turning a piece of yarn into something useful, one stitch at a time. But it's also very relaxing, once you're up to speed. Billie is a patient teacher who will ensure that you'll be knitting in no time.

In your first class you'll learn how to cast on, and do the knit and purl stitches.
If time permits, you'll also learn how to bind off. Billie can help you select patterns to make things that will be at the right skill level for you.

One student had this to say:

"I consider myself an experienced knitter so was surprised to find myself stymied by reading a more difficult pattern. Amy is a pleasure to work with as well as an extremely skilled teacher. Her explanations are clear and in one case her diagram clarified my confusion. I learned, laughed, and left Amy having learned what I needed to learn. I am impressed with her and will call her again."

"Jane was a lovely and kind. She taught with much patience as I continuously dropped stitches, she assure me and then use my mistakes to include another skill within the lesson. So, in this one-hour lesson I learned to knit, purl, decrease and undo stitches when I made a mistake! It was a really nice class!"
