In my lesson plans I stress a simplistic approach that also focus on allowing the student to have fun and creatively explore. I live here In Asheville Nc and all too often throughout my carrier i have seen music forced at young students not allowing them to prosper in ways music is a tool for exactly that, allowing you students to creatively flower and blossom.

I am a firm believer that there isn't a single singing method out
there that really works for everyone. But rather it is about observation
of yourself without judgement and TRULY understanding how vocal
production works in your body in relation to your breath, your mind, and your soul. I am not here to dictate how you should sing in a certain way. I am here to help you and guide you in understanding your body in relation to sound production and to cultivate your own method of vocal technique in your own words and in your own logic that actually works for you.

About Cris

Cris, countertenor - is a natural male who combines sounds from the Ancient past with those of the digital era to form a unique, hybrid mix unlike any other. Classically trained, Cris creates a crossover musical experience by infusing pop with early music (Renaissance folklore & Baroque opera)

This was my first experience with voice lessons, and Cris the best teacher I could have hoped for! He has introduced me to all sorts of music techniques that I’m sure I will need when I leave to study music in college, and he helped me to prepare any vocal requirements I might have to fill. He is always patient, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with; and he has inspired me to continue studying opera in the future. I would highly recommend him for any level of vocalist! :)

I consider learning how to put together one's own music to be integral to learning how to play a musical instrument if one is to learn it to their utmost potential. Having a deep understanding of how music works enables the player to better understand their instrument as well. To that end, I teach my students how to compose their own music using music theory, because what better way to understand something than to make it yourself? If you would like to learn music theory and how to compose, I would highly recommend simply enrolling in one of my hour-long (or longer) piano lesson options, because I incorporate theory and composition lessons into those lessons free of charge (unless the student specifically does not want it). However, I am also happy to teach composition lessons independently, whether it be because the student plays an instrument I am not qualified to teach, or simply for their own edification.

About Joseph

I began studying the piano in my early high school years and instantly fell in love with what I consider the ultimate musical instrument. The more I studied the piano, the more I wanted to learn how music is conceived and put together. Between the act of sitting down at a piano bench to let my fing

As a beginner piano student with very little experience with the instrument, Joseph really did a great job easing me into learning my way around the piano. His lessons were clear and easy to understand with good direction on what to improve on next. He was patient, understanding, and very accommodating to questions I had regarding the material.
I would definitely recommend Joseph to anyone looking for a piano instructor!
Jonathan
Joseph has been a fantastic teacher. He asked me early on what I want to focus on. The pieces he picked for me to practice were challenging, but fair. I'm very pleased with how well I've progressed. I would recommend Joseph highly. If you want someone knowledgeable, patient, and down-to-earth, Joseph is your guy!

I have been playing music since I was 3 years old and have been teaching for the last 5 years. I set up every lesson plan to match what the student would like to learn as well as making sure to meet the parents goals and expectations. I work with all ages and all levels. I also work very well with those that have special needs such as Autism. Every lesson is engaging and exciting, it is never a dull moment.

About April

I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

Recently I decided to learn just one song (one a bet with my son) and the helpful folks at TakeLessons directed me to Stephanie.

Have just had my first voice lesson - learned so much, had fun and came away feeling as though, "I can do this." With Stephanie's training, knowledge and insightful teaching backing me, I have new hope.

Stephanie tuned into me, my needs and goals, she really got it! Nothing cookie-cutter about this lady; I feel the lesson was worth every dime. Now - off to practice..."
