I am a music teacher and musician in the Los Angeles area. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. I started my music education at the age of three; it started with clapping, rolling around on the floor, and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. I was fascinated by the magic that music possesses; as Rimsky-K
I started studying flute at the age of 8, and it has been a delightful journey. In high school, I have participated in marching band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, and symphonic orchestra. I was also part of two prestigious local youth orchestra, the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Claremont Young Musician Orchestra.
I obtained my Bachelor of Music (Flute Performance) degree from University of California, Santa Barbara. I grew immensely as a musician during my time in Santa Barbara, I studied under Jill Felber, and I was able to expand my repetoire and gain considerable experience. I even played at the local farmers market as a street performer during the weekends. After graduation , I traveled to my home country Taiwan to study another great musician - Anders Norell, the principal flutist/flautist of the Taiwan Philharmonic. It was another great opportunity as I was able to garner teaching experiences, as well as attending master classes of great flutist/flautist such as Emmanuel Pahud.
As a music teacher, I encourage and inspire. I am foremost a music lover, then flutist and flute teacher. I aspire to spread the abundance of joy and beauty that music has bring into my life. As the great conductor and cellist Pablo Casals puts it: "Music is the divine way to tell beautiful, poetic things to the heart". Therefore, whether if you are a wobbly toddler, high school marching band enthusiast (as I once was), house wife looking for a new hobby, full time employee who always had a love for classical music, or grandmother who is looking for something other than crochet, join me on this wonderful journey.

I have just moved to the Baton Rouge area to pursue my Doctorate in Music in violin performance and am looking for students interested in violin or viola. I recently finished my Masters in violin performance while being a private teacher at Bender School of Music in Elkton Maryland where I taught violin and viola. I received my bachelor degree from Colorado State University with a concentration in violin performance and violin/viola pedagogy (the art of private teaching). What is unique to my training is my pedagogy degree, where professors analyzed my teaching to help me perfect it while also studying and analyzing many pedagogues and private teachers.
Currently I have availability every day of the week and weekends as I am still growing my studio. I drive to all my students' homes and do not have a set studio location yet.
I ask that all my students own a stand of some sort (a wire stand can run $10-12), a shoulder-rest (which can be in the form of a violin sponge at about $4 or a plastic shoulder rest can be about $25) and the proper books I assign that will be determined at the first lesson. My practice requirement for each student depends on the age and goals of each student but are set in place in the lessons.
I am accepting students who are looking for a permanent teacher OR who are looking to advance during the summer for the next school year. I teach from age 5 to adult. I mainly teach classical violin, but if you express an interest in fiddling music we can certainly look at fiddle material though my main concentration is in classical music.

As a vocalist, Jameson sings regularly in a wide variety of styles. He has studied the Alexander Method, Body Mapping, Singing by Speaking Voice, and Vowel Isolation as well as the application of this technical work through text and emotion. He completed the classical vocal performance pedagogy and created an extended fusion technique for Gospel, Pop and Musical Theater singing which utilizes similar principals. As an actor, his training includes work with both the Stanislavski Method, Meisner Technique, Shakespeare and Lyric Performance, Clowning, Improvisation, Dance/Movement for actors, and exposure to Stella Adler, Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg's work. Other than the concerts that Jameson sets up himself, he also gave me an opportunity to try out for The Voice. This experience was one of a kind! It was a several day experience where me and a select few other people came to the Tabor Studio and worked on our songs together with multiple coaches to critique our voices so that we would improve for the following day when we actually got to professionally record the songs that we practiced to send to the voice! In addition to this, Jameson helped me place top 10 in the final for Portland Teen Idol, which hosted a few hundred singers. All in all, I regret nothing about my relationship with Jameson. I have studied voice myself for over 30 years. As a professional I have performed opera, musicals, operetta and in concert in Europe, primarily in German Opera houses as a lead tenor in every category.
I speak fluent German, I have a good performance knowledge of Italian, French and Latin and have also sung in Russian and Hungarian.

My ex-wife worked in Musicals as a keyboardist and conductor in Germany and on Broadway with Disney's Beauty and the Beast and also Miss Saigon. I spent a lot of time around this world and have learned a lot about musical singing from them.
Still, the best of them possessed classical training which helped them have long careers.
However, if you want to study for enjoyment and personal development, then I am willing to work with you as well. Love for music, the voice and singing is what binds us, not whether you want to do opera.

Being so inspired by those who helped guide and teach me I decided that I wanted to teach and pass on the same care and guidance I received. I began teaching private lessons at the age of 16 and had many students from ages 6 to 45. It was there that I developed a passion for working with youth.
After High school I was accepted with scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. At Berklee I was able to study under some of the best musicians in the world and focus my studies on education and performance. It was during my time at Berklee that I had discovered after school music education opportunities in Boston, and went from volunteering to running a summer camp, and eventually becoming the Music Program director working with funding from an amazing group called the Music and Youth initiative. As Music director I taught youth age 8-18 in a variety of settings. I also played a major role in creating literature and teaching guides for the program. One on one instruction, group lessons, recording studio time, ensembles, and seasonal showcases were all ways to teach and guide our students.
This is exactly what I bring to my drum lessons: a strong footing in the technical side of playing, and an unwavering devotion to developing musicianship that always serves the music and the song. For intermediate and advanced students, I bring my experience as a working studio and live drummer to lessons. We focus on musicianship in the context of a band, listening, timbre, groove, timekeeping, confidence, and the intangibles of what it takes to be an effective band member (and an employable drummer!).
In addition to countless hours spent in middle and high school banging away on the drums in my parents' basement, I studied jazz in college, and since then have taken lessons with Scott Amendola to supplement my experience playing.
