My name is Berthe ( pronounced Bert). At the age of 4, I began taking piano lessons. By age 8, I was performing for the first time at the Assembly Hall of the American University of Beirut. In 1978, I attended the Faculty of Music of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik/Lebanon, where I completed a PhD. in music education and a higher diploma in piano. From 1982 to 2000, I taught piano, music theory, music education, music appreciation, and the history of and analysis of Western music at the University of the Holy Spirit of Kaslik (USEK), The University of St. Joseph (USJ) and the Lebanese University (UL). I recorded my first CD “Rehna Meshouar”, a collection of Lebanese songs for children, intended to introduce music to kids. I took part in many educational activities and devoted myself to the promotion of musical educatio
n to the children. In 1995, I published my first book “Do-Mi-Sol”, that focuses on a method specifically designed to teach kids Solfege (oral theory and ear training).
From 1998 to 2001 I was in charge of training aspiring music teachers at the Ecole Normale in piano, music education, psychology of music education, and the philosophy of music education. By the year 2000,I was appointed Director of Studies and the Academic Secretary of the Music Faculty at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. During my tenure, I employed teachers, advised students, and developed artistic and academic programs. It was my responsibility to organize studies and examinations, as well as plan, execute, organize studies and examinations, as well as plan and execute concerts, conventions, and competitions. I have lectured all over Europe and the Middle East, as well as published many articles concerning music and music education. Since moving to Florida in 2007, I am a professor of piano instruction at St. Petersburg College. I also give private lessons in my studio. I have served as a judge several times at the Bay Ridge Piano Festival.
*** Lesson Details *** Our musical journey has a smooth and relaxed progression, establishing enough command of the keyboard to allow each student to develop naturally. To make the piano a richer and more rewarding experience, I enjoy introducing a variety of musical styles, from popular favorites to timeless classical pieces, according to the student’s musical tastes.
I believe in a dynamic and responsive method of teaching. I see the student as an active participant in their own learning. Our lesson feels pleasant and joyful, so the student will always delight in playing the piano and creating music. Based on the student’s age and demands, I employ several methods of teaching that lead to the development of observation, concentration, creativity, self-confidence, and personal expression. I encourage and support my students regardless of specific talent, as we move toward an effective and beneficial musical experience.
*** Studio Equipment *** Living room: baby grand piano, additional seating for parents.
*** Specialties *** I teach Classical music to beginners and advanced students and follow the active method of teaching where the student is not just a receiver but participate in his own learning.
I hold a Masters Degree in Music from George Mason University.

Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.
*** Lesson Details *** Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.
The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.
Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.
*** Travel Equipment *** n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher
*** Specialties *** Musical Theatre
***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.

My name is Brandi and I am ready to become your music teacher! Playing the guitar has been my passion for 13 years and counting. As a part of the talented music program throughout my high school years, I decided that I wanted to pursue music as a profession. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for music performance and focused on the classical guitar as my primary instrument. I have played many gigs ranging from open mic nights, accompanying a choir, classical guitar ensembles consisting of up to 12 people, and my solo recitals. I also play the electric guitar, ukulele and the piano, with recently expanding interests for electronic music and synthesis.
My goal since graduation has been to make teaching lessons my full time occupation. Building up a studio certainly doesn't happen overnight so I have come here to expand my ava
ilability to the internet! As your instructor, I can help you to learn any and all of the things that you want to accomplish on the guitar even if you are a complete beginner. Don't wait to create - we can progress together!
Great feedback from the concert! Now Brandi's been working with me on basic classical - reading two or three lines at a time and going up and down the neck of the guitar with just the sheet music! No Tab Charts!! For me this has always been extremely hard, and probably the hardest musical skill for me overall is reading multiple lines simultaneously. Not great yet but - in quite a short time - have come Much farther than I was and am finally figuring out how to do it. Brandi has been super encouraging and patient and explains every step along the way when I get stuck - even multiple times if needed :)! Playing my normal rock or jazzy stuff with a lot more ease and "know-how" than before. She makes being pushed to your limits not only productive but also enjoyable.

I have a concert gig coming up in the span of a week playing guitar with a big band orchestra doing jazz or band arrangements of various popular songs including a big band arrangement of Play That Funky Music from the 70's. In other words not the easiest stuff to be playing :)! First lesson with Brandi and she cleared up all the trouble spots, tricky rythms and chord changes easily in an hour. She explains musical complexities clearly, knows what she's doing and at the same time makes it easy to understand and execute. I had read about her background in classical and knew she had to be good but was genuinely impressed with how well she understood jazz and funk styles better than I do. ( And I'm 28, have been playing since age 12 and performing publicly in multiple settings since 13) Great personality, a lot of fun to work with, and incredibly knowledgeable! Absolutely recommend!

Brandi was so patient and very informative. My daughter can’t wait for her next lesson.
I'm an artist, musician, and language aficionada. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia, graduating with honors as a Magna Cum Laude in Spanish and French Linguistics. I am fluent in both languages. One thing I love about teaching is bringing the arts into the process of learning. We may sing in the language and even paint to help learn. I've taught younger than Kindergarten all the way to adults, so feel comfortable that you'll grow in your conversational skills, as well as, beginner vocabulary. Let me highlight that I'm passionate about "phonetics," which is the study and classification of speech sounds. In other words, you are going to learn how to sound like a native speaker when you take my class.
Why do I like to bring art and music into the learning journey? Let me tell you one of the biggest secrets I've dis
covered. Art and music can allow you to make a joyful memory, which takes the fleeting moment into the longterm part of your brain, causing you to remember more and put it into what you call "muscle memory" all because you're happy!
Speaking of the arts, I play guitar, ukulele, charango, piano, and I sing! I've been a musician since 2000, and I've successfully turned a hobby into something my husband and I have been doing full time for several years. For beginners, something that works best is taking a song that you LOVE and turning it into your anthem on the instrument of your choice. So pick your song and message me!
Last but not least, I'm a painter. Painting is my favorite part of any day. About my childhood, I can candidly say I had the best stepmom. She would let me take her enormous canvases, oil paints, and brushes and just let me at it. Of course at first they were all of my hand prints and rainbows, but she got me curious, and eventually we started going to museums. I've seen Vangogh, Monet, Divinci, Picasso, and many more as they toured through our city. I began to study their techniques and grow my gift. My "Mama Sue" gifted me a hunger for creativity and excellence, and I can't thank her enough. Painting with me, you will grow in your technique, skill, and confidence, and pick up a little artist history along the way.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you accomplish your dreams!
Loren is an amazing teacher. She is patient, kind and caring. She listened to what I needed in preparation for going to Valencia Spain and then customized the lessons. I think we had a lot of fun together as I slowly began to catch on to the dialect of eastern Spain. BTW - she also knows French! I wish her the very best as she continues teaching others!

Loren is a absolute joy! You will feel so empowered to learn guitar for her even after the first lesson. Plus, she uses many other methods to teach guitar that it feels like you’re having fun and learning at the same time.

Amazing! Loren is a wonderful instructor- I can’t believe how much I learned during my very first lesson. She was knowledgeable, patient, thorough and such a kind person. I can’t wait for my next lesson!!
I'm able to teach techniques that I've learned over the years. Lets pick up your horn or bugle and get you comfortable with it. The multiple groups I've played with have taught me a lot and I want to be able to pass that along.

"Isabel is very professional and fun to work with. In our first few lessons, we worked on solidifying some basic fundamentals of singing (proper breathing
, posture, etc.) and have since moved on to some simple songs/arias. She is a wonderful teacher for beginners like me, but with her skill level, I can see her as being an exceptional teacher for more advanced students as well."
"Rachel is a fantastic piano teacher! I give my highest recommendation!!! 5-stars!!! Lessons are fun and highly productive with her. She is extremely fr
iendly, helpful, and a pro!"
"Glenn is AMAZING! He did much more than just prep my acting & singing for my audition. He gave me tips to help be prepared for the unforeseen during the a
udition and instilled confidence in my performance. He is a great teacher and I highly recommend him! Can’t wait to continue to learn from him!!"

Attending my alma mater, Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, was a lot like going to sight singing boot camp. Every student who attends, despite his or her major or instrument, must sing for four years in the college's professional choirs. Though many organists and pianists are annoyed at first, th …
