No more waiting to get to the good stuff! Our proven violin and piano methods let you use the entire fingerboard and keyboard from your very first day.
Other methods restrict student access at first. Students become accustomed to a narrow range. They may become anxious when invited to advance to a new level. Our gentle approach has produced concert violinists, professional fiddlers, and accomplished pianists, as well as avid amateurs.
You don't have to be an advanced player to make music on piano or violin. Some folks need more encouragement, but everyone has something to say. We'll share proven tools in the private lesson to have you playing violin and piano the way you always dreamed.
Experienced teachers, beginners to advanced. Ruth has over 30 years teaching experience in colleges and music schools. Come see the possibilities!

I have taught piano for 50 years, tutoring approximately 2,000 adults and children, many which are professional musicians today. I have been a fulltime teacher for 25 years, residing in the Phoenix Arizona area. My teaching style is casual yet structured. My youngest student is 3 years old..my oldest is 82 years old. Children are taught systematic...adults are taught according to their goals. I evaluate each student, setting goals and helping them accomplish them. I offer two recitals with students each year. I have also written an adult beginner piano course, "How To Play Piano in 12 Weeks", with a guarantee that 6 favorite songs will be played in that time. All these lessons are taught on-line. Teaching is not only my passion, it is my purpose!
I have been teaching professionally since 1965 I am also a professional) jazz and gospel pianist. I perform primarily in the Phoenix area but have performances throughout the year throughout the United States. I have written and produced a musical, "Kleo the Kat", which includes 10 original songs.

How do you sing with vibrato? Find out how to develop your technique in this guest post by Hayward, CA teacher Molly R... One of the main things beginning singers tend to worry about is lack of vibrato. “How do I make it happen?” they ask... sometimes at the first lesson. I usually make it very clear right away that you cannot force vibrato! If you do, you can easily damage your voice or create a very ugly “wobble." Vibrato is something you have to LET happen. Here are so …

Songwriting is a seemingly mystical process by which some universal truth is almost subconsciously dictated through you as an empty vessel on to a blank page. It often - but not always - takes a form. It often - but not always - has a rhyme schema. And frequently - though not always - can follow a formula. Whether you're just starting as a singer/songwriter, or you're a veteran musician, the songs that make their way onto our hearts are not written so much as they are discovered. Songs happe …

If you're looking to teach yourself to sing on key, it's important to remember that it has as much - if not more - to do with training your ear as it does with training your voice. And since we can't hear ourselves sing accurately, we need recording equipment or another trusted pair of ears to check our results. With the advent of smartphones and tablets, tools that will help you teach yourself to sing on key are now readily available alongside more traditional methods. Here are five methods y …
