Cole T. Saint Paul, MN

About Cole

Music lessons are meant to help the student grow in more than just competence in their instrument. They build personal confidence, social skills, and a love for the arts. With my ability to teach piano, vocals and guitar, your student has my experience to tap into as they grow as a musician. I have been performing professionally for churches, theaters, and restaurants since the age of 16, applying my education and training in the music industry. Growing up, I took piano lessons from ages 5 - 18, then went on to continue my passion for music by taking music composition and theory courses. This allows me to link piano, guitar and voice together in and out of lessons. You, and your student, have everything to gain from hiring me as a teacher! *** Lesson Details *** I teach piano by the ...

About Amy

As I child I had an early interest in music, dancing and creative things. I took piano lessons and excelled at my chosen instrument, the flute, in band at school. I continued with my music training at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education in 1992. I worked for 11 years in my profession in various settings before I took a break to start my family. We have only taken 3 or 4 lessons so far with Amy but from what I can tell she is great! Amy is very patient in our lessons which really shows that she is great with beginners. Amy is also always right on time which is always great to have. Amy is a friendly and kind person and that really helps make the lessons fun for my daughter.

Thank you Amy! It is now 2 years since I started piano lessons with you as an adult beginner. I enjoy my lessons and even like to practice! You are a great teacher.

Anyone out there who thinks they are too old to start music lessons - I started at 68 and think playing the piano has actually helped keep my arthritic hands limber.

Go for it!

Mary S. Saint Paul, MN

About Mary

I began taking piano lessons on a whim in middle school, but it didn't take long before I realized I was completely in love with music. I enjoy playing and teaching many types of music, from classical to rock to hymns and church music. I learned to play by ear at the same time I learned to sight read, and both approaches have helped me to learn and enjoy the music I play. I graduated in December 2010 with a BA in Music Performance from North Central University, here in the Twin Cities. I have been teaching piano lessons for the last 6 years, as well as directing a children's choir. Watching other people learn to play music is one of the greatest rewards I've received. *** Lesson Details *** I believe music has incredible educational value, but I also believe that it should ...

Mary has been teaching my daughter Ava piano for the past year and a half. Ava loves lessons every week and practices without being asked. Mary is supportive while still challenging Ava. Highly recommend Mary!

A gifted teacher for teaching Piano Lessons

Mary has inspired my daughter Joanne to want to play piano. She has a way of balancing what the kids like to play and what the parents want in a music lesson for their kids. Joanne has not lost interest like we thought she might, but has wanted to Accelerate learning piano. She gets them playing music right away and then little by little explains more and more about music itself. It is an all-around winning strategy, especially when teaching kids.
Thank Mary

Mary was able to help me get a basic understanding of the piano and help me to read music. Mary did a terrific job of using my strengths to make it easier for me to learn to play the piano better.

How Can I Make Practicing Violin Scales More Effective?
No matter how much students may groan when it comes to scales, they are very important for all beginners to know, particularly for the violin. Almost all of your knowledge about playing the violin starts with learning how to play scales, from reading sheet music to better understanding the fingerings. Of course, it is not nearly as exciting as playing one of the songs you love, but practicing scales will give you a strong foundation that will help you progress and improve. Violin scales are typ

Introduction to Proper Violin Posture
You may feel that learning the violin is all about playing the right notes at the right time. It is – to an extent.
