I have enjoyed teaching children to play the piano and organ for over 50 years. I use classical methods, and I have also developed my own method for instructing that makes it easier for children to learn to play quickly, through the incorporation of color into the instruction method.
(It even works for adults)
I have found that by making it easy to pick up the basics of playing quickly, students learn to enjoy making music - even before they learn the science of music notation or musical theory.
By teaching children to love making music while learning how to truly play the piano, it keeps them interested, makes them happy, and they even look forward to their piano lessons.
All learning happens more quickly and at a deeper level when students enjoy the subject matter and truly want to learn, rather than simply by rote and repetition.
I am a lifelong educator, church musician and choral director who has been teaching children the love of music for over 50 years. One of my piano and organ students even grew up to be the town organist for the city of Sydney Australia, and plays in the Sydney Opera House. I especially enjoy teachi

I encourage all of my singers to learn music that they love, while also expanding their knowledge of other musical styles. I train all of my singers to be well rounded musicians capable of reading music, sight singing, and performing in a wide variety of styles. My teaching style uses vocal science to help students to perform healthily!
I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Performance. While in school, I performed two full operas. I played Laetitia in "The Old Maid and the Thief" and Sister Genevieve in "Suor Angelica." I have also had the amazing opportunity to spend a month

Throughout my music degrees, music theory has always been a love of mine. I have taken every course in music theory that my degree would allow (plus a couple that didn't count for anything). I am an experienced arranger with the ability to write for all instrument combinations.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.
I've been playing guitar and keyboards for many years, so I've been somewhat cautious about approaching a professional instructor to help me "get serious" about the guitar. Like other players, I've run into overly pedantic instructors who take every player back to the beginning and teach the "right" way to play the instrument, but also the loose instructors who have no structure and can't deeply answer theory or technique questions.
Ahmad has managed to build a rigorous teaching methodology while still being fun and really engaged in what the student wants to learn. He's has compiled drawers and drawers full of prepared exercises and explanations, but he's looking to help me find the most helpful topics to work on rather than disregard what I already know.
I have a great time learning with Ahmad, because he knows an amazing amount about music, the guitar, performance, and recording. I throw questions about him about frets, intonation, tuning, chord naming, pick angle, string gauges, fingering, chord voicing. He's consistently humble about his knowledge, and then tells me everything I could want to know on the subject. When I ask about players I like, he's completely familiar with how those players play. It seems like half the time he's had my favorite players as his own instructors.
Best of all, Ahmad really loves music. He's genuinely thrilled at my improvement, and is very respectful of what I already know and how I already play. I've been playing the guitar for a long time, but Ahmad got me excited about making music."
How bad is "vocal fry," anyway? As a singer, should you be concerned about this new vocal trend, heard in artists such as Britney Spears? In this guest post by Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R., listen to a vocal fry example and learn the truth behind the fuss... I was recently listening to This American Life (a popular radio show and podcast), and the hosts started talking about vocal fry. As a voice professional, I immediately started paying rapt attention. Within a few minutes, …
