I had such an amazing experience taking voice lessons with Zarina. She has an incredible voice and unmatched talent. She is a skilled and patient teacher. Her techniques are very professional. I learned how to access different muscles when singing, which greatly improved the sound and strength of my voice. She has an awesome personality and it is a pleasure to learn with her!

My girl was 3 years old when she started taking lessons with Zarina, the lessons included introducing the different notes and rhythms , through stories and a full body movement that was perfect for my 3years concentration span.
My daughter fell in love with Zarina and piano lessons which made her want to continue with piano lessons after Zarina moved .

I've been writing songs since I was 16 years old and verse and poetry since I was 13. There is no such thing as being "too young" to start writing and these skills have been closely linked to the mastery of other skills as well including composition, comprehension and reading. In addition, developing the creative portions of our brains at an early age can help to open up creative doors in other areas for us as we continue throughout school.
Finding chord combinations that work well together as well as utilizing theoretical precepts like key signatures and relative minors, can also help us to wake up our muses and compose songs which inspire ourselves as well as others.

About Mark

Mark L. I was born in California but raised in the sleepy town of Beaverton, Oregon, enmeshed in massive groves of pine and poplar trees and long, cool rainy days. I entered into the world of creativity and music when I was just thirteen by composing poetry and song lyrics, and began dabbling wit

Lauren taught my son saxophone for 5 years, beginning with his very first lesson at age 9, and continuing throughout middle school. She was always very patient, reassuring, and encouraging. Lauren really helped to develop my son's love for music and playing the sax! She prepared him for middle school jazz band auditions, and helped with his jazz band music throughout those years. Lauren challenged him with new selections when his school band music became too easy, but always allowed him to work at a pace he found comfortable. Now in HS, he's very busy with all things band, so lesson time is limited for him, but we wouldn't hesitate to call Lauren again.

Lauren has been giving my son saxophone lessons for over 4 years. She has been an excellent teacher always on time and available. He has progressed under her direction very well. Currently, she's teaching our daughter acoustic guitar and we've been very happy with her progress.

We had a little trouble with our connection but Lauren is great and very patient. Hopefully we can get all the issues with the connection worked out and we are looking forward to the next class! I think it’s going to help my daughter a lot!

The most successful musicians are the ones who tell a story through making music. The secret to this success is a commitment to constant improvement and cultivating a strong musical voice. These are the cornerstones of my experience teaching and performing music. Throughout high school, college, and even beyond, I’ve sought out opportunities to share music and connect with audiences regardless of where I am. I believe music is something deeply personal and a gift that should be shared with others. Study with me and I will help you find your voice so you can share with the people in your life.

About Chris

Today is the perfect time to take up a new instrument! I'm a graduate of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), Penn State (We Are!), and the University of Southern California (Fight On!) I have known and worked with Chris for four years. As a trumpeter, Chris is truly exemplary. He is beyond capable in all styles of music, and is an extremely creative and innovative performer. He has experience teaching a wide range of ages and abilities; from young and mature beginners to college level students taking auditions.

I have played with Chris in brass quintet, duo, trio, orchestral and wind ensemble settings, and have never stopped being excited and inspired by his playing. As a soloist, Chris has presented many beautiful solo performances that involve and communicate with audience members. He is not afraid to break down the wall between performer and audience, a refreshing take on the classical artform.

Along with being a fantastic performer and educator, Chris is an advocate for the outreach and sharing of music. He has worked with nursing homes, hospitals, and local school districts to share music with more people.

I highly recommend Chris as a teacher, and believe any student who has the opportunity to work with and learn from him is on the best path to reach their goals.

Chris is a very talented trumpet player and educator, who I have had the pleasure of working with on a few different occasions. I am the Program Assistant for the USC Thornton Community Engagement Program, and Chris and his brass ensemble were a very valuable member of our program during his time as a graduate music student at USC. He performed outstanding music education brass ensemble assemblies for students ranging from 1st grade to high schoolers in the South and East Los Angeles. During these performances he not only taught and played at the highest level, but also showed great communication skills to students of all ages and adults attending the assemblies.

Barbee is fun and patient, but strict, a necessary trade when dealing with teenagers. She will push them without them noticing, allowing them to reach their potential. She also listens to what they want to sing, and applies her professional skills and knowledge to every song being interpret."

He is patient but knows how to get the most out of his student's ability. I have been taking lessons with Mike for 2 years now and never expected to be as advanced as he has helped me to be. "Ahmad is incredibly skilled not only as a musician, but as a teacher. My 10yo son started studying electric guitar with him as a complete beginner, and his progress within a couple months has been amazing. I appreciate Ahmad's thorough approach which ensures that my son is learning all the different skills needed to become a competent guitarist, including reading tablature as well as traditional notation on the staff. At the same time he makes sure to teach power chords from the get-go that allow my son to play rock songs which inspire him and give him an immediate feel for what it is like to really play the instrument.

Equally important, Ahmad is a kind and patient teacher who is excellent at working with kids, doesn't speak down to them, and has the gift of being able to relate to them where they are.
My son comes away from every lesson excited and inspired.

I'm a professional musician and teacher myself, and know how difficult it is to find a truly competent, dedicated, and inspiring teacher, especially for children. I am thrilled that we discovered Ahmad - he is a true gem."
