Growing as a musician and producer has been a remarkably fulfilling path and my passion for sharing that adventure is what drives my excitement for teaching. I hope to bring positive energy and insight to all my students’ lessons and help them grow. I am interested in working with students of all ages, and enjoy helping with everything — learning how to sing or improve vocal technique, learning how to play piano, cover favorite artists, perform, record, navigate ProTools of Logic or digital/analog synths. I you have a specific goal or project in mind, long or short term I'd love to help!

About Marie

Marie is a music theory junkie and music production nerd. She spends most of her free time petting her adorable Aussie puppies, Max & Bug. When she gets around to it she writes songs and produces them from the ground up in her home studio. She has spent innumerable hours analyzing Wagner’s Ring cyc

"My name is Lily. I am 6 years old. I think Marie is an awesome piano teacher because she is kind, focused, patient, and nice. And also, I really, really, really like her singing voice and I like it when she sings along when I play. I feel happy with her as my teacher because after each lesson, I feel more focused. Thank you, Marie!!"

I appreciate Marc’s knowledge, professionalism, and teaching methods. I also appreciate his practice of social distancing and mask wearing. He was thorough, good-humored, and patient during my lesson.

He is very good with me. I'm not a very good student. I have bad habits and I'm overly sensitive to criticism, yet he has not made me feel bad at all about my playing if you want to call it that. I also have a short attention span and can't read music fluently. But his patience is much appreciated, and each week get a little better at it all. I recommend him to those trying their best to sound a little better.

It was really good information and I had a lot of fun.

With 30+ years teaching experience, I have the tools and expertise you need to help you succeed with your harp goals. My background includes studying with world renowned harp teachers Alice Chalifoux and Susann McDonald, and I share with my harp students the unsurpassed harp skills passed down to me, with additional certification in Suzuki Harp Method and Therapeutic Music. In addition to harp performance, I have taught courses in music theory, composition and arranging for harp, harp pedagogy (teaching methods), harp maintenance and orchestra/ensemble. From beginners to veterans seeking additional skills, I'm here to help, and am happy to give instruction, advice and guidance on any harp topic.

About Catherine

Cathy teaches private harp lessons online as well as in her home studio, working with students of all ages, levels, and harp types. She is on the faculty at Tulane University School of Music and the University of New Orleans, and has presented Spring and Fall student recitals every year since 1996.

If you have an opportunity to study harp with Catherine, jump at the chance and count yourself fortunate! I have taken lessons with Catherine for over 10 years and she has guided me from a relative newcomer to the harp all the way into my professional career (playing for symphonies, opera, ballet, concerts, etc..). Catherine shares her vast knowledge and beautiful musical artistry in the most patient, kind and nurturing way I can imagine. It's a joy and an inspiration to study with Catherine and I always eagerly look forward to any time spent working with her!

I have known Mrs Cathy for over 8 years. She has always been very understanding and you can see how much she loves the harp. Our lessons are productive and challenging, but Mrs Cathy still makes it fun! I look forward to our lessons and feel like I’m learning a lot.
Angelle
Cathy is a gifted musician and an excellent teacher. For me, an adult student with a limited background in music, taking lessons with Cathy (both online and in person) has been the perfect fit. She is patient, makes lessons fun and interesting, understands my musical interests, and helps me find music that I enjoy playing. She has taught me not only technique but also some music theory, which has been very helpful. I am so pleased with my progress. Also, when I first started lessons, I had so many questions about caring for my harp. Cathy taught me how to tune my harp properly, transport it, and even change strings. She also taught me how to position myself properly when playing. Cathy is a wonderful resource for all things related to harps. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
