Experienced guitar teacher of 25 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of fundamental guitar skills. I specialize in rock, blues, and country, flat picking, finger picking. Typically use study books, and also have sheet music available to use during lessons. You will learn simple and complex chords, lead guitar scales and melodies, music sight reading and music theory.

About Scott

I have been teaching private lessons since 1990 and am currently available to teach lessons at your home, or in my studio. I have helped students learn chords to accompany themselves when singing, learn rock, blues, and country lead guitar, and read music. Together we can tailor a course that will

I have been playing guitar (self taught) for about 25 years, just not very well. I was looking for a teacher that could help me fill in the music theory gaps. As well as help me formulate a meaningful practice plan that will get me over my hump. I gotta say Scott has hit the nail on the head every lesson. He first listened.. and as a result has delivered an eye opening and inspiring lesson every time. I highly recommend Scott for guitarists of all levels. He knows his STUFF!! Better yet, he knows how pull what YOU need from what he knows and deliver it effectively.

Ted is extremely knowledgeable about music theory and is a talented guitarist. We had talked briefly before our first lesson so he could assess my goals...and he literally managed to fill in the missing pieces and get me the information that I needed in the very first lesson to be able to achieve my goal. It's an overwhelming amount of information, and now it's on me to silly what I've learned and practice, practice, practice! But in five short lessons my understanding of music has changed dramatically, and as a result, my playing has improved as well.

Thanks Ted!

As a professional musician who tours around the world playing various different genres and collaborating with different artists, I like to introduce my students to a broad range of genres and explore with them what type of music they resonate with the most. With more than 12 years of experience teaching music and a degree from Berklee College of Music, I put high emphasis on developing musical ear and developing the skills which will help you learn anything on your own.

I also encourage my students to explore their creativity and create something of their own - whether it's a song, a piece, or just an idea that we can develop together. If you are interested in singing / songwriting, we can include these as part of the piano lessons into a wholistic, well rounded music-lessons experience.(for that i'd recommend longer lessons length).

Looking forward to having a musical journey with you!

Within weeks he helped me to overcome those challenges and he made the process fun! Not only did he help me with my mando technique but he also helped me to listen better to others when playing. If he hadn't left CT I would still be taking lessons."

How "Breathy Voice" is Created | The Danger of Breathy Singing

Singing in a “breathy voice” has a mixed reputation among singers and educators, and for good reason: it can be risky. In this article, we’ll discuss the mechanics of singing with a breathy voice, if it’s harmful, and how use to the technique safely. Remember the spectacularly cheesy film “A Walk to Remember”? In this 2002 film, Mandy Moore sings a pop ballad called “Only Hope” using excessive breathiness to create a fragile, emotionally charged aura for her character. …
