I have been a professional painter artist and musician for 10 years. I received my BFA from SMU in Fine Art and Painting and have exhibited my work in galleries, shows, exhibitions and sold it at auction. My teachers have included Steve Wilder, Barnaby Fitzgerald, Bill Komodore, Massimo Lippi, Jay Sullivan, and others.
Plein Air, Still Life, and Figurative works are my specialties, but I have also studied the development of the abstract language.
I'm also acquainted with old master mediums and techniques such as egg tempera, grinding pigments, etc.

I have extensive experience and a great enthusiasm for Disney animation, including the development of animation technology by Disney Studios. I love teaching students cartooning and animation techniques!
When you inquire about lessons, please include a bit about your current level of knowledge or experience with cartooning, as well as what you would like to learn from our lessons. I also ask, prior to our first lesson, that you provide me with at least 1 sample of a drawing (of anything) so I have a good idea of where we should start. That way we can dive right into lesson 1 and I'll map out how to reach your goals.
Also, there is no need to worry about forgetting what we cover during classes, because I provide each student with their own copy of a collection of tips, tricks, samples, and shortcuts I've put together.
About Cynthia
Hello! I've been an artist and a teacher for most of my life, and am excited to share those skills with online students. In 1993 I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Art Education, and in 2005 I added a graduate certification in teaching Computers and Related Applications.

OIL PAINTING LESSONS
Abstract Painting uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Abstract art, non figurative art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art are loosely related terms. They are similar, but perhaps not of identical meaning.
