I am a high school mathematics and physics teacher with 10 years teaching experience in the European Union. I also have 10 years experience in one-on-one tutoring of undergraduate and high school students in mathematics. I obtained my M.Sc. and became a certified teacher of mathematics and physics in 2005. Besides teaching I was also responsible for organizing several international exchange programs and national student mathematics and physics competitions. I am fluent in German and in Hungarian and I can also teach math and physics in these languages. I came to the US in September, 2012. *** Lesson Details *** Most students I start to work with think that math is a difficult and boring subject. After a couple of lessons they quickly change their minds and start to see the beauty in it. Everyone can understand math, however different students need different methods and examples to archive the success. In the first couple of lessons I usually focus on the problem at hand, let it be a test, or an exam you need to take. During these first steps I identify the gaps in someones math knowledge, which is usually the cause of the problems at hand, and will cause problems in the future. Math is like a house, you cannot build a roof before having strong foundations. Also, It is much easier for students to understand the same principles through real life examples, which are close to their interests. I am very patient and there are no "stupid" questions, when someone is trying to learn math. For students who are able to solve most of the questions, but are having trouble with the time it takes to solve them, I can teach methods to increase their problem solving efficiency. Usually the same question can be solved several ways, and with enough practice, you will be able to solve most problems just by looking at them.

My crochet teacher , Andrea, was excellent. Very patient, on time and an excellent teacher. It was first time doing crochet and the first time I used take lessons. I was very impressed with both and would use them again.
