I am currently teaching most piano lessons online. I am also available for a few in-person lessons in my home studio, if certain safety precautions are followed... more about that at the end of this section.

Whether your lessons are online or in person, a typical lesson with me will include things like this:

-The student plays what they have practiced, and we work on any difficult areas and techniques for playing better.

-I introduce new lesson material, asking questions to make sure my student understands.

-We work on music theory, sight reading, good posture, and helpful practice techniques.

-I expect my students to practice every day, just as I do. It is the only way to become proficient.

- - - - - - - - - -

For online lessons, you may use the online platform provided by TakeLessons, or we can use Zoom. Most of my students are using Zoom.

You will need to order lesson books before your first lesson. Please contact me after you sign up to discuss

Melody is awesome! She was able to answer my myriad of questions at my first lesson and still had time to teach me new things that have really helped me. She was very personable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I have no doubt she is going to help me become the best piano player I can be.

Ms. Clarice is an all-star teacher and a extremely talented violinist. I had the honor of working with Clarice as an undergrad student at Arizona State University. Clarice was the teaching assistant for Danwen Jiang's Violin Studio. Clarice helped shape me to the violinist I am today, she helped instill a confidence in me I did not have before. She helped bring out passion to my playing in my performances. Clarice has a vast knowledge of violin pedagogy, technique, repertoire and music theory. Ms. Clarice loves each of her students and it shows through her character, you can tell she truly loves what she does and has a passion for teaching music. Want to learn bluegrass, old-time, or Irish fiddling? With 18 years playing fiddle and 10 years teaching, I have the experience to help a beginner gain basic skills or an advanced student analyze bowing patterns, moving double stops, and more. From the student who is picking up the fiddle for the first time to the fiddler who’s been playing their whole life, I hope to inspire a love for traditional fiddle music and culture.

About Cody

I was first inspired to play the fiddle by my grandfather, Tom Smith. Many of my cousins started learning traditional instruments around the same time and we had a lot of fun jamming at family gatherings and at music festivals in our home state of Indiana. In 2015 I was proud to carry the family tra

Growing up and taking music classes I have always struggled with grasping the concept of music and instruments. Currently a college student with a busy schedule, Cody has helped me accomplish a lot with the time I have been taking lessons with him. Coming from never being able to grasp music to starting to play some songs and understanding theory more, progress has really shown. Learning from Cody will give you a fun, patient, and an exciting environment that will keep you wanting to learn more. Cody is extremely talented, very nice, and makes music easy! I would suggest if anyone would want to learn from the best, learn from Cody!

After years of music classes taken in school, i have really struggled to grasp the concept of learning instruments and the basic fundamentals of music. Currently a college student with a busy schedule, Cody has really changed me from a person who always wanted to play the fiddle to actually accomplishing my goals of playing songs and understanding theory and the instrument more. I would 100% recommend anyone who wants to learn to play the fiddle to reach out and give it a shot. Cody is a phenomenal musician that can play tunes that will make your jaw drop. You will learn from the best teacher who is very kind and considerate of being a beginner and helping you accomplish your goals!

I learned a lot of basics in my very first lesson ever, and am excited to continue to learn with Cody. He's confident, calm and friendly and gave me more information than I thought I'd get in one quick lesson. I look forward to next week!

I was in the process of prepping for acting conservatories, some schools require the students to sing; Fawn helped this extremely inexperienced singer sound pretty good and confident for her auditions. "Ahmad is a stellar guitar teacher.

For starters he has a complete and thorough text book chock full of examples and exercises. He supplements that with practice loops and online videos.

More important, Ahmad provides an excellent foundation for playing guitar. He patiently works through all of the essential steps to playing guitar. And, he makes it fun by adding real riffs and licks from luminaries such as Jimmy Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Pat Metheny and many others."

I had an audition to prepare for in just 3 weeks and I've never felt confident that I would ace it and leave the judges in spades. I learned the importance of vowels, dip thongs, having a steady tongue that's out of the way for proper air flow and so much more. You want to be good, put your money where your mouth is.
