This is a Preschool class offered. I have taught this Rhythm and Pulse class to children as young as 1 year old and I teach up through 6 years old depending on the child.
What I work on is helping the student build Rhythm, and Pulse (or Tempo) For this age group the children are getting hands-on play with up to 15 different instruments. Each lesson reinforces each other to help the student develop what are called "Preplaying" Skills.

My goal is to teach students how to actually understand Music, not just play notes. There is something extremely liberating about being able to instantly arrange any song based on an internalized knowledge of the structure of Music (harmony, rhythm, melody, and texture). Whether you want to learn how to play popular tunes by ear, play chords from a lead sheet, or get into advanced jazz harmony and improvisation, my core teaching principles will remain the same. The goal is to learn deeply and internalize, not just memorize notes. My specialty is in jazz, arranging, and composing. I have released 4 albums and had over 125k streams on Spotify. There is nothing I would love more than to help you along your journey with Music and equip you with tools that will last a lifetime!
I can't get enough of Music. Whether it be playing Stevie Wonder covers with a funk bank in a college bar, performing solo jazz piano for private events, or staying up till 3 in the morning on a Tuesday trying to figure out a bassline to my newest composition, there is something about Music that ge

Classical Voice Performance from New York University
I am passionate about connecting students to their own unique voice through discovering the relationship between the body, the brain, vocal discipline, and personal expression. I work on creating a resonant and freely produced sound throughout all the registers. My goal is to promote healthy vocal technique while having full engagement in a song. I believe that singing is not only learning the right notes and words while delivering a lovely sound: singing is conveying your emotion, your engagement, and your character’s situation to the audience. Once your voice is lined up with great technique, your “own” true voice will begin to surface with an increased vocal range, resonance, and heightened flexibility between notes. You will explore who YOU are as a singer and discover what repertoire works best for you. I also emphasize working through the actor’s process, so she can fully prepare you for any audition or performance.

We've talked about how to read chords and tabs before on the blog -- but what about a new approach of learning guitar without sheet music at all? Here, Austin, TX teacher Samuel B. explains his teaching technique... During my college years, I was given a brief introduction to instructional methods common to Japan. Specifically, I was told that playing the shamisen or the koto (two native stringed instruments) is a skill learned by way of the student facing the teacher and playing w …
