Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from Eastman School oF Music
There is a potential in every person to be truly great at any one thing. All it takes is hard work and honest determination, with determination being the most important. Because where determination comes, hard work follows naturally.
I hope to inspire my students to really love making music and being creative with their instruments. I can give my students all the information in the world and tips on how to improve at violin playing, but in the end it will not matter if the student has no desire to improve. And that is why I love to teach- inspiring students to love what they do!
Abigail Tsai received a Bachelors of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded a Performer's Certificate. At Eastman she studied with Professor Oleh Krysa. She is currently pursuing her M.M. in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Ilya Ka

Above all I want students to enjoy learning the piano. Most people start because they love a certain type of music or wish they could just sit down and enjoy playing. My goal is to make that happen. I teach all ages, beginners and intermediate levels. I think that lessons for children need a lot of variety so that they can learn from games, singing, clapping, movement and playing the piano. Of course, we all need singing, clapping, movement and playing the piano to learn but without the stickers at the end of your lessons!
Playing the piano and loving music has been at the center of my life. Aside from the happiness and fun it can bring, learning an instrument also teaches discipline and confidence which carry over into everything. I enjoy teaching both children and adults. As I teacher I am patient and encoura

Associates in Occupational Studies - Acting from American Academy of Dramatic Arts
I've graced the stages of some of NYC's most beloved theatres including; The National Black Theatre, The Public Theatre, 13th Street Rep, and HERE Arts Center. I can be seen in a number of films, commercials, and music videos alongside the likes of Shaquille O’Neal. I’ve performed worldwide in places like Athens, GR. I have worked with world-famous directors like Broadway's Kenny Leon and Dennis Hilton-Reid, and received training from some of the world's top acting institutions (The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, CalArts). I have directed regionally and in New York, I teach regularly with The Family Repertory Company (Where I have served as a resident actor and director since 2016), and have students spanning the globe! I strive to acquire as much knowledge about this craft as is possible and to share that gift with the world. A wise man once told me, “The only reason to act is that it hurts too much not to.”

She’s a fantastic instructor because she’s always willing to take time to answer questions, change the lesson plan to fit what the student’s needs at that time, and focus on the basics while learning how to play music. There is a lot to know when playing violin and it can feel quite overwhelming. Ha-eun broke down some of these big overwhelming chunks into small comprehensible sizes. There is an art in teaching an instrument without making the process frustrating, and she actively tries to make learning how to play violin easy on the student. The violin is a difficult instrument, especially when you realize there is no frets on it. I think Ha-eun does an excellent job and recommend her as an instructor."
I thought I had no rhythm. I never played drums. After a couple hours with Casey I can play rock beats and even at least play to some songs on my Ipod. Great teacher!!!"
No matter how much students may groan when it comes to scales, they are very important for all beginners to know, particularly for the violin. Almost all of your knowledge about playing the violin starts with learning how to play scales, from reading sheet music to better understanding the fingerings. Of course, it is not nearly as exciting as playing one of the songs you love, but practicing scales will give you a strong foundation that will help you progress and improve. Violin scales are typ …

When you decide to take voice lessons, as you are looking for a teacher you may encounter the phrase “bel canto method” (as in, “I teach the bel canto method”). It sounds fancy, but what does it mean? Read on as New York voice teacher Natalie W. explains... Bel canto refers to both a musical style and the singing method that was developed to sing that style. It originated with the first operas during the Baroque era (early 1700s) - best exemplified by the music of Handel - and was …

Did you know there are a handful of common guitar chord progressions that are repeatedly used throughout hundreds of songs? If you've spent much time on YouTube, you might be familiar with the Axis of Awesome. In their popular video, the Axis of Awesome performs a compilation of around 50 songs in under six minutes, all while using the same guitar chord progression. The video is very entertaining as it creatively reveals a secret that professional musicians have known for decades. Guitar …
