Hello!
My name is Rick and I have been playing guitar since I was 8 years old. For 15+ years I played in a 6-piece horn band for private occasions. For the past 10+ years I've have performed at 1,000+ engagements as an instrumental acoustic guitarist – 6 and 12 string guitars.

My students range from children (8+ up) to adults to senior citizens. Whether you are brand new to playing the guitar or just want to brush up on the basics, you have found the right place.

My objective is simple: Let's have fun!

I am flexible in my teaching style. If you want a more formal approach, I can teach you how to read music and play melodies & chords of some of your favorite songs. If formal is not your thing and you just want to learn to improvise, we can go there also.

I aim to please, so let me know where you want to go with learning guitar.

About Rick

Greetings! My name is Rick and I have played guitar since age 8 and began teaching guitar over 25 years ago. As a performer I have played over 2,000 engagements both as a member of a six-piece horn band and as an instrumental acoustic guitarist. Teaching has been equally important and even

All ages are welcome! Viola is one of my secondary instruments and I would love to pass on my passion for music to my students. Students can expect to learn how to play the viola with proper technique in a way that is unique to each student. Students use the Suzuki books, Barbara Barber scale method, etudes and student requests in their lessons. Brynn’s students will also learn basic music theory, which includes reading notes, rhythms and key signature recognition for all major and minor keys. Students can also expect to improve their overall musicianship skills while earning audition skills and gaining overall confidence. I cannot wait to work with you.

About Brynn

Brynn is an experienced violinist with a Bachelor's of Music in Violin Performance from Youngstown State University. She has studied under the guidance of Professor Joseph Kromholz. She has been playing the violin for 13 years. She is classically trained but has experience performing other genres.

Brynn was such a great teacher for my daughter! She was engaging and supportive throughout the lesson. Her knowledge about music and the viola is phenomenal! My daughter is so excited to connect with Brynn for her lessons each week.
Salome
It was our first lesson and as a parent I trust Brynn to position my daughter to be a great violin player. As she instructed my child she also made sure that I understood what she was teaching so that I can assist her with practices at home. This was very forward thinking and I appreciated her sharing her knowledge with me! My daughter has a great time!

Very passionate about piano and able to convey ideas.. also very good at feeling out what student is seeking to achieve. Definitely recommend Paul if you are wanting to take playing piano as a serious endeavor
Arthur
My experience with this teacher was horrible. Paul has no patience for a child that might not pay attention as much as necessary. He has forgotten what it is to be a child or how to win over a child and make a lesson fun.
My child had one previous lesson with Paul. It is true that she was not following his directions and his frustration was quite obvious.
On my second visit I was appalled by Paul’s behavior. Again my child wouldn’t sit down on the bench correctly. Verbatim this what occurred next, I quote: “This is not going to work out. Get out of my house NOW, NOW!(Screaming, like I was going to prolong this). I have better things to do than waste my time with your daughter. I don’t want to take your money.

It is true that my daughter can be difficult when approached in an authoritarian manner. However, my daughter is not yet six and Paul brought my daughter to tears. Surely this behavior was at best inappropriate and says more about the person Paul is than about my daughter. A simple “ May I have word with you in private” would be a mature way to part company. Not throwing a 6 year out of your house because you are frustrated. I was horribly offended by his manner and attitude. No way to treat a 6 year old.

This man has no patience with young kids. I would stay away from this teacher unless your child has some experience with piano. Definitely not child friendly.
Normally I do not post reviews unless something extraordinary happens This is one of those: extraordinarily bad.
An apology is in order if this poor excuse for a “teacher” has any understanding of the unnecessary hurt he has caused.

"Hayden is a great instructor very professional, dedicated, a truly pro in his craft. He is a versatile musician with an extensive, proven background in all sort of styles that definitely will help anyone interested in learning, advancing, and perfecting the skills required to play the trombone to reach their goals, no matter what level your are at the moment.
Let’s be real, if you really want to master or at least play decently well any instrument (the trombone in this case with all its technical challenges) you need a mentor and here we are lucky to have a young, professional, smart musician, with a strong, solid academic formation and a life dedicated to music, specialized in trombone to our entire disposition.
If you are trying to find an instructor to help you out with your musicianship, stop looking because you have already found him. I am sure that you, as I have, will exponentially progress with his help. Thank you Hayden."
