Touch typing is a technique that helps you type faster and more efficiently by using all your fingers. Typing with this technique is important because it can greatly improve your productivity, especially if you have a type-intensive job, such as a programmer or a writer. 

As a student, touch typing helps teach you how to decode and break down words and sentences which can also help with spelling skills. As you learn to type you become used to the pattern of the QWERTY keyboard and the structure of the letters, muscle memory alone can help you remember how to spell!

Typing

I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Education/Mathematics.  I am a "real" math teacher.

I have taught math to elementary students, algebra and geometry in junior high and high school, and all levels for college students.

For example, my first student had dropped out of high school and had the opportunity to earn a diploma rather than a GED.  She only needed her math credit.  I was so proud to share my graduation gown from my closet with her and provide her with an authentic graduation picture when we finished.

I have also helped a grandmother earn her GED, a mother earn her MBA, several young men prepare for the ASVABs (military  entry test) and many students navigate through math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry courses on their way to high school graduation.  I would love for you to be my next success story!

Reading and Phonics is a weekly or Bi-weekly Program.  It can be taught as either a full learn to read program, homeschool course or as a  tutoring program for problem or challenging areas.

Beginner? We can get you started on the right foot!  I have experience with tweens, teens, adult beginners, seniors and children of all ages.  I have special curriculum and activities that enhance interest, reduce stress and help you to maintain what you learn.

Pre-schoolers have a curriculum all their own that teaches phonics, reading or  music through lovable animal characters with games on tablet, computer and other resources that teach, reinforce and excite their hearts to learn and retain what they learn.

I am a very laid back instructor, though the classes are very well structured. 

Usually, we progress with a chosen curriculum according to the student's or parent's vision and initial overview during the 1st few classes.  However, all curriculums are supplemented to enhance student performance and comprehension.  Our supplemental material is used to go swifter for material that you grasp well and understand, and slower with more repetition for that that you need more practice, without being monotonous.  It is also used to provide appropriate but exciting reinforcement of all material to ensure that material is retained. 

We are forever updating material and also incorporate games and enhanced activities to keep lessons interesting and refreshing as well!

I also have experience in teaching autistic, ADD, ADHD and those with varying degrees of brain damage.
