From 4th to 12 grade I studied piano under Dr. Anne Karanikolaou. I studied music theory, rhythm, technique, composition, and performance at Saddleback College.

My core qualifications are extended piano techniques, lesson plan development, performance assessments, putting on bi-annual recitals, musicianship skills, technology integration, individualized lesson plans, musical theory, and creative teaching skills. 2005 to present Owner/teacher at "Piano Matters".

My professional experience includes solo performances in various venues including restaurants, wine bars, cafes, private events, wedding and reception music. Seasonal performances at the University Of Irvine Alumni group "The Inside Edge”. The first band I created was a 4 piece consisting of drums, 3 part vocals, bass, and two keyboardists which was picked up by the surf/skate/snowboard/apparel company "Volcom" and put on their record label.

I also toured the Hawaiian Islands for over a decade with big name bands including Humble Soul, Jus Goodie, J Boog, The Heartical Crew, Remedy, The Turnstyles, Sheriff Brown, and backing numerous traveling artists from  abroad. Recently I've won multiple songwriting challenges in different groups on social media. I currently perform with various local artists including JamKwest, Lyons Den, Smoothie J, Johnny Love, Andrew Corradini, Braddah Adrian, Jah Mex, and Anesha Rose.

I have been giving private piano lessons in student's homes for the past 15 years to present date. I care deeply for all of my students and helping them achieve all of their musical goals and aspirations. My lessons consist of theory, technique, sight reading, ear training, performance, and will be tailored and designed to fit each student's wants and needs. My first lesson was good.  He has a very traditional approach but fun delivery.  Looking forward to more lessons.

Gabriel has been teaching my son Riser (age 7 now) for over 2 years now.  We feel so blessed!  My son progressed so quickly. Gabriel is patient, engaging and has a gift for helping kids grow their piano skills week by week.  I love that he's also created "recitals" for his students to play for people!  We recently switched from in home lessons to doing them through FaceTime, and it's almost like having Gabe in our home with us.

I’m an adult learner and was overwhelmed with the idea of jumping back into piano lessons after a long stint away and not a lot of foundation to start from. I enlisted the help of Gabriel and found his patience, encouragement and thoughtful teaching style put me right at ease! After a few lessons I was on my way and managed to stumble my way through a big chunk of a complicated song I had been wanting to learn! During this uncertain time in history where we are all self-isolating to protect ourselves and each other, I think there is no better time than to pick up where I left off and start my lessons again. I’ll be resuming online lessons with Gabriel again and encourage you to do the same! You won’t be disappointed. 🙂

Gabe is such an amazing teacher! Hudson has been taking lessons for 3 years and it has been such a great experience. His skill has progressed so much, sometimes his interest level goes up and down but Gabe always knows how to make it fun again with new songs to learn and then he wants to play and practice all day. He also loves performing in Gabe’s recitals and the talent show at school. Gabe is so talented and patient, we feel so lucky our friend referred us to him!

My son warmed up to him very quickly - it said true they say kids know it cause me being the mother I felt the compassion and warmth Gabe had and so did my little one. We have been taking classes With someone else prior where I had to drive and go and this has been so much easier for us busy moms who can stay at home and continue the work while our child is learning- Gabe is so patient and has this calm demeanor and that is so natural that kids pick up and feel comfortable- to teach kids you have to have a certain personality and Gabe sure does. I trust him so much and feel comfortable while he is teaching my son and I’m in the office downstairs- I immediately felt comfortable with him teaching my son and being in my home which is not easy to feel with just anyone- he truly cares and I have never seen him look at his watch just to get out but rather leaving the child with enough to learn and practice and that alone comes from his quality of care and compassion that he takes pride in to make sure these kids learn.
