Musical Theater

I am a certified singing teacher, a Musical Theater actress and a performing singer. I've been singing since I was four. I graduated from New York Vocal Coaching school with a certificate of Vocal Pedagogy. In addition to my experience this course taught me a totally new, modern approach to the voice teaching and a clear understanding how the sound is produced in our body. 
   We all are built differently, so my students can expect a personal approach to their needs and requests. I will design vocal exercises for each student individually, so it fits your voice and nature the best. 
   As a professional actress I believe that every song is a little monologue, so I will teach you how to express your feelings through the song and how to find the best intonation and the way to perform it. 
  I am a preforming actress and singer with bachelors in Directing Theater. I have over 15 years experience working in the drama and musical theater in Tbilisi (Georgia), Moscow, Philadelphia and New York both as an actress and assistant director. Being a Broadway Actors' Equity Association member, I do a lot of auditions myself, so I also can share my experience with you and teach you an auditioning skills or prepare you for auditions.
   I teach singing technique for all styles and genres, and coach for Musical Theater or pop and rock music.

Actors' Equity Association, founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 49,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation Corporation is providing long term master-classes for Musical Theater. In this round our teachers were Broadway and Pop stars Rob McClure, Matthew Scott, Megan Sikora, Graig Jonson, Alan Souza, Peter Flynn. It's a two week intensive with a lot of classes and a big show at the end. In 2018 we performed at Kimmel Center

Every person is unique, every voice is special, in my lessons I use a personal approach to each student, according to their needs and requirements. I am focusing on vocal technique, which means we're going to learn how to make a particular sound, how our body works, how do we breathe etc. I'll teach you what is belting and how to belt healthy, what is a mixed voice, chest voice, head voice and what is the difference between them. For those who already know the basics or who are advanced singers, I'll extend your range, teach you some more vocal registers (for instance what is flageolet and how to use it). We'll also work on the artistic and style aspect of singing. With my vast theater experience, I know how to work on lyrics and intonation, how to present a song so it touches the audience’s hearts. I am going to take you to a very fun and exciting journey of exploring your own voice!

Elena provided introductory singing lesson to my daughter and myself.  I appreciated that she worked in this area as it gave the lesson that professional experience which my daughter would benefit from in growth and perspective.  The technique was beneficial as well. I'd recommend Elena.
