For the last thirty years, from the day that I got my first electric as a teenager, to my work today as an acoustic guitarist for the  band, Timberwood, and currently as a teacher of more than forty students a week, my life has been devoted to the guitar.  

I'm an experienced veteran of the metal and hard rock scene of the 80's and 90's in eastern Virginia.  As I grew older, I took formal lessons focusing on classical guitar, while growing to love the blues.  The year that I turned 34, I quit my corporate job, took a leap of faith, helped to build and brand a new music school in Chesapeake, Virginia, working there as a full-time music school manager and guitar instructor.

I now teach an incredibly diverse group of students of every age, background and experience level in my home studio here in the fast-growing World Golf Village area of Saint Augustine, Florida and at the Jacksonville School of Music in Jacksonville, Florida.

My teaching philosophy is simple - teach how to play the guitar, not just how to play the songs.  I pride myself on being a positive and patient teacher, dedicated to his craft and to each student's success.

Over the last decade of teaching guitar full time to hundreds of students, my passion remains the same - teaching my students how to play the guitar, not just guitar songs.  My own journey as a heavy metal lead guitarist and songwriter who's transitioned to classical music, folk and the blues has prepared me to teach how to play the guitar in almost every single style of music.
