A solo from a recent gig where I worked in some dimished licks into a solo section with an otherwise "major key" feel. Notice how I started the most of the dimished licks on either the sharp second (the song is in the key of A, so a sharp second would be the note A sharp), the major third (relative to our root in this progression, which is just A major over and over), or the flat 7th (again, relative to an A major chord); then notice how I subsequently resolved most of the dimished licks either back into a chord tone from an A major chord or a note that fits in a standard A major scale. This resolution lets you play a cool "out" sounding lick that will catch a listener's ear without the entire phrase sounding "wrong" to the listener. I can also teach you music theory as it applies to the guitar; such as how to read music, build and name chords (and why they work), scales and arpeggios (and how to use them in your playing), as well as an understanding of rhythm and time (a shortcoming of many aspiring guitarists!). I've been teaching guitar lessons professionally since 2017 and am able to work with all ages and skill levels. I look forward to working with you!

In our lessons, we can cover anything you'd like (your enjoyment of guitar is my top priority), ranging from basic technique all the way to advanced fretboard maneuvers. I can teach you anything from simple strum patterns, fun classic riffs by great bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, all the way to the technical mastery of great guitarists like Eddie Van Halen or Joe Satriani, or anything else you're interested in learning. I'm well versed in music theory and can give you insight on how and why ideas work and how they can easily apply to your playing (such as scales, arpeggios, etc.)

I don't have a personal studio to teach out of, currently, but I am available to travel around the greater Austin, TX area to give lessons at the student's location or give lessons online via Zoom or Skype. Looking forward to working with you!

This is a "Chord-Melody Arrangement" of the Bright Eyes classic "You Will. You? Will...". Give the original a listen, and notice how I incorporated a bass note, the rhythm guitar part on the original recording, as well as the lead vocal melody in order to give my arrangement a "full" sound one instrument. This was accomplished by learning all three parts/learning what chords were being played in the original tune and how the vocal melody notes + rhythm related to them
