Hi, there! My name is Alec, I am a gigging musician and teacher in the LA Area.  I love the bass and I have spent most of my life learning and studying the instrument. I studied classical and Jazz at Northern Arizona University for 2 years before transferring to Berklee School of Music, where I studied Music Performance and Jazz Composition for 5 years. Teaching high schoolers how to  play in a jazz, r&b, or rock ensemble setting, we would have rehearsals weekdays for throughout the five week program learning new songs every week.

5 Week Program Ensemble Teacher

Teaching middle schoolers how to play together in a band, each program was one week long starting on Monday and by Friday students would learn three songs as a band and be performance ready.

If you study with me you will Learn complete mastery of your instrument. Do you every note of your fretboard? I can guarantee you will know where every note is, how to play all your modes in every key, how to feel and manipulate time with complete mastery and apply these concepts to the music you want to play. My list of mentors include, Anthony Wellington, Victor Wooten, Whit Browne, Susan Hagen, Mike Pope, Lincoln Goines, Chris Finet etc. 

Ain't too proud to beg was released in 1966 and reached no. 13 on the billboard pop chart and was number one on the r&b charts for 8 consecutive weeks. Written by Norman Whitfield and Edward Holland Jr. this classic Temptations song is timeless. James Jamerson played bass on this session and you can hear is simple, yet syncopated style shine through on this record. Lettuce is a Boston-based funk band. Their name is said to be derived from the band members asking local venues to "Let us play". Erick "Jesus Coomes is laying it down on Bass.
