I've really been enjoying lessons and have been getting a lot out of them! Flexibility with scheduling concerns has also been well appreciated!

My daughter was so nervous for her first lesson and Phillip was amazing. She is 14 and said, "He didn't make me feel bad that I am not as good as I should be and so that makes me feel like maybe i can play better."
So grateful Phillip - she is anxious to spend the summer learning from you - we appreciate your approach and as he said ability to "put her at ease" so she can feel comfortable to learn. Awesome first lesson.

I’m passionate about music education and I am a full time music teacher and active performer throughout the SE Michigan area. I love to collaborate and have had the privilege of collaborating with new artists on new works, as well as premiering new works as well internationally in England and Portugal.

Lessons are designed and catered around each student and I believe in a well rounded approach in teaching music. You will learn many topics throughout music theory, aural theory, and music history to understand the inner workings of different genres of music.

I hold a Masters in Piano Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London and a Bachelors in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new hobby, or further your musical skills, I’d love to help out. All levels welcome!

I work with beginners to advance singers. I love to focus on my clients Uniqueness. Every voice is different and I like to help support those qualities by giving them the tools they need to make their voice flourish. I like to incorporate more modern styles of music in my curriculum, with the emphasis on posture, muscle relaxation and breathing technique among other benefiting vocal exercises!
I also work on Artist Development with singers & songwriters who are wanting to pursue a music career as an Artist. With Artist Development, I focus more on the development of the clients vocal image and help them pin point their Artist niche.

About Jesaiah

Jesaiah is AMAZING! She always stays long enough to answer all of my questions. She remembers what you're interested in and implements it in her teaching. She always takes the time to find exercises that fit me, sends me informational links and notes from our class. She will pull you up with herself. And she is the nicest and she just has a lot of positivity! I did a lot of research before starting and if I go back, I'd 100% choose to take singing classes with her, again! Oh and she's a WONDERFUL singer!!
Jesse
Wow! Jesaiah is great. I have been her student since the first of the year and have learned so much and she makes learning fun. She's even recommended some producers to help me with my original song.

I began playing the piano when I was 3 years old in Japan. I have the Yamaha certification of piano instructor, which I passed the exam when I was 16. I played in many music festivals held in the city as the pianist and competed in many youth competitions.

I was diagnosed with tendinitis when I was 15 and I was unable to play competitively after that. However, I still enjoy playing the piano and love teaching the joy of being able to play the piano to let the heart out. It’s relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.

In addition, practicing the piano is great for brain development especially for younger children. However, it doesn’t matter if you are young or old, playing the piano is great for brain health and mental health as well. I look forward to working with kids, adults or seniors!

In the Pits: How to Succeed as an Orchestral Pianist

Being a piano player may seem like a very solitary way to go about learning an instrument. As a piano student, you may yearn to make music with others, and if you're naturally drawn toward group music making, it may be that you already study an orchestral instrument, or sing with a choir. You may also have extended your piano training to accompany some of your friends for concerts or exams, or explored the wide variety of chamber music repertoire available involving the piano. However, had you c …

What’s the Difference Between Professional and Student Violins?

Getting the right instrument is one of the most important decisions in a musician's life. The right violin will feel comfortable in your hands, respond accurately and consistently to your touch, and help you produce the best possible sound for your level of musical development. Students learning the violin can rent or purchase instruments from music instrument retailers, and they offer a variety of instruments that can seem daunting for the novice violin purchaser. When will you know that it' …
