I have been teaching cello privately for over ten years. Along with that I teach the theory behind it as well.
I use the books Strictly Strings for Cello Book 1, and String Builder for Cello Book I. I also use some outside music that I have on hand when the student is ready for it.
I love teaching anyone who wants to learn any instrument. I also teach the theory along with it so the student will become a good cello player.

About Kathy

I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher in the following areas: piano, violin, cello, drums, music history, and music theory. I have taught vocal and instrumental music in both Catholic and Public schools, and in after-school programs, for 20 years, and have been giving private lessons for 9 years. I

A great passionate violin instructor.
Loquacious, but each moment of verbal conversation has a message that leads to the musical lessons of the day. I really appreciate her knowledge and skill. I am often reminiscent of my violin instructor as a child. Each session leaves me with the zeal to practice hard in eager preparation
for the next.
Kathy is a kind, patient and methodical teacher. She develops your piano skills with a structured program of theory and exercises geared toward constant improvement. She has helped me improve my piano technique throughout our time together. I have been able to play increasingly challenging pieces on a regular basis with her. I look forward to steadily improving my piano skills.

I have recently returned from a week long stay at the Sonatina Piano Camp in Bennington VT and would like to notify all those piano students who may read this review as to the wonderful experience attending this camp can be. The camp takes adult piano students at all piano skill levels from beginner to well accomplished. Students stay in shared rooms (2-4 persons) which includes a piano in every room. Attendance is usually 18- 27 persons. The mansion itself is home to approx. 30 pianos. All meals are provided (and are outstanding) as well as piano classes and 4 lessons with concert pianists or university piano professors. Ample time is provided to practice a performance piece for the end of week performance night. Master classes are given on several evenings for those wishing to perform a work in progress piece for the attendees and the camp owner providing a public lesson.
I have found that the attending student group to be extremely supportive to all other students especially to those experiencing performance anxiety. Repeating attendees (from all over the country) have formed lasting friendships among themselves which have endured for years. Eight week long sessions are given throughout the year. In addition there are summer sessions for school aged youth
and also 4 short week sessions for those wishing to try a sampling of the camp. This past January was my 3rd year attending the camp and I will be returning again next year. My experiences at the camp have been truly unforgettable. More information can be obtained at

I’m passionate about music education and I am a full time music teacher and active performer throughout the SE Michigan area.

Lessons are designed and catered around each student and I believe in a well rounded approach in teaching music. While everyone will learn a solid foundation of note reading and playing technique, lessons also pull from sources such as music theory, ear training, music history, etc.

I hold a Masters in Piano Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London and a Bachelors in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new hobby, or further your musical skills, I’d love to help out. All levels welcome!

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

"Pecos has been an exceptional instructor for my 15-year-old son with diverse music tastes and who is progressing to intermediate-level cello. Pecos’ instruction is insightful and attentive to the individual student, and my son feels the lessons are valuable and effective. We also appreciate receiving a followup report after each lesson outlining new techniques and practice goals for the next week, a huge improvement to the interpretive “mom notes” my children have had to rely on in past years of string instruction."

"Several years ago I had Devin for a Jazz Guitar Ensemble and to this day I feel fortunate to have had it that way. Devin always had a keen insight when it came to students in my ensemble; he understood the importance of technique when it came to practical habits but taught so in a manner which consistently upheld the quality of performance. Above all, Devin had such patience and a down-to-Earth personality that I felt like I was learning from an older brother. Having always encouraged my musical pursuits and inspiring me with his own, I recommend a mentor and a friend."

"Michael made me comfortable right from the start. I've tried learning to sing from YouTube videos before, but I never received the feedback that I needed. He was very good at making sure I was on pitch and using correct techniques. I learned a lot from my first lesson, and I'm looking forward to my second..."

"I've taken lessons from Alex for years. Over that time he's maintained a good balance of challenging and yet engaging. I've found him to always be encouraging and supportive with a calm approach to simplify what can be difficult material at times."

"My son started taking saxophone lessons with Gleb in April, 2016. He was at 6th grade at that point and was playing saxophone as a Music Elective in his Middle School. In October/November, 2016 my son auditioned for the Special Music High School playing saxophone and, as we learned in March, 2017, got accepted. My son did not have a privilege of parental help or support as far as musical education or experience goes, and he is not exactly a very purpose oriented type “A” achiever kind of boy. So he could only rely on Gleb’s help and effort. In a month or so, my son said that he likes working with Gleb and would like to prepare for upcoming auditions. This is when we decided that we have to intensify their practices. Starting from June, 2016 my son was taking 2-hour lesson with Gleb 3 times a week. Since, as I mentioned earlier, we could not help our son with composition selection for his auditions, I just printed the Audition requirements from High School’s website and Gleb suggested a selection and worked on them with my son. I would definitely recommend Gleb for your young musician. I believe that he knows what he is doing not only in terms of music, but he is definitely able to work and find a way with different kids, not only the best out of the best, which you would often hear from very well acclaimed teachers and tutors."
Took Saxophone lessons from Gleb V.
"Excellent lessons

I'm 50 years old and I have never taken lessons before and was very nervous. But Luis put me at ease and gave me confidence. I also learned a ton. Didn't know that just breathing could be such hard work! Looking forward to continuing with him and hopefully reach my goals of singing with an acapella group."
