About Marlisa
I am a potter who specializes in functional tableware. I teach in my studio and also at local art centers. I teach throwing on the potter's wheel and hand-building. My work has been exhibited in national juried shows.

I also am a textile artisan. My love is doll-making, in the Waldorf style. I teach knitting (Continental style), crochet, and sewing.

My other love is gardening. I grow tree and herbaceous peonies. My cottage style garden is planted for fragrance and naturalness. I emphasize growing perennials because their beauty increases each year.

I have had nothing but the best experience working with Marlisa. She is patient, she takes the time to verify that you've grasped a concept you're struggling with and works to find the best way to communicate with YOU. I don't think anyone would regret spending an hour or two learning and chatting with Marlisa. I feel so inspired and more confident each time I leave a session. If you're on the fence about trying this; don't hesitate!

Marlisa is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable teacher. I took my granddaughter to her for a pottery lesson and she was very happy with Marlisa's teaching, resulting in her being able to throw a bowl on the wheel that she can actually use. I would highly recommend Marlisa as a teacher for students of all ages!

Marlisa is an awesome teacher. I took a pottery class at Glen Echo years ago and was very disappointed, but with Marlisa's excellent teaching skills and enthusiasm for the art, I left her studio feeling like I wanted to buy a wheel and start throwing. I appreciate her hands-on approach and always felt taken care of attended to. Marlisa is a true artist and excellent teacher!!! I highly recommend her.

Kai has been a terrific teacher for me. I went with one idea of what I wanted and Kai has made me re-evaluate and has taken me to a place where my skill set will be so very much stronger. And he's done the in a caring and patient way that makes the whole process easy and enjoyable. I have learned more than I thought I would in a very short period of tie. Kai is a terrific teacher.

Sergey taught me about everything I had questions about and also offered suggestions in helping me to better determine the best way to find the career path that is right for me. Rather than hard and fast lessons, it was an opportunity to spend time, one on one, with a professional and learn from his experiences what works and what doesn't.

About Megan
*For Online Lessons please inquire about rates for 30 min or 45 min lessons by emailing me, thanks!*

I am drawn to the timelessness of the human figure as the focal point of a painting. I find people to be my biggest source of inspiration. This appreciation extends also to the students I am honored to teach. I never quite know where the art class will take us and what skills will be honed to match the inspiration the student has, but on many occasions we both are wonderfully surprised by the results. I design each lesson to inspire and encourage the student . The techniques will come with time but it takes inspiration to get there!

I had three other painting instructors before I came upon Megan's class and I will say she is the best painting teacher I have had and that does not come easy because I am a professional sculptor that has taught and taken many classes in the art field. Simply put Megan is at the top of her game and her style of teaching is one that most anybody will benefit from her classes.

Moe is a good instructor, he has a lot of experience with teaching basics and intermediate topics in the fine arts. Not only is he familiar with traditional painting and techniques, but his practice itself is very innovative in inspiring you how to harness your own skills and seeing artmaking in your own way.

I am a studio artist and live painter with an imaginative style trained in the old masters techniques of classical realism. I studied at The Schuler School of Fine Art, a renowned atelier focusing on classical realism techniques. There I took classes part time along side alongside college courses from 2011 until I became a full time artist in 2016. My classes at Schuler included drawing, oil painting, watercolor, sculpture and anatomy. I am experienced with painting still life, figure, portraits, trompe l'oeil, alla prima (wet on wet) and glazing.
I offer lessons catered to each individuals level of expertise. I can work from a guided curriculum with projects, excercises, and demos that teach the use of values, color, composition, light, and edges, or work with a student on a specific subject matter or project of their choosing.

About Sharron
My resume includes graduating from the Baltimore School for the Arts and continued studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art until I decided I didn’t want to be a “Starving Artist”. So, I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education also includes 27 graduate credits that were leading to a Master’s in Public Administration when I decided to discontinue that path. After twenty-five years in the public sector, I decided to revisit my passion for art in my spare time. As a youngster, I remember wanting to teach art in schools, but I did not want the restrictions that are present in the classrooms and more so today. All forms of art is a freeing practice that is practiced and developed over time.

Why not have your yo
ungsters sit for an actual tutoring session and learn something while being entertained? I like to incorporate age-appropriate art (drawing) or activities in any of my academic sessions to keep my students engaged and entertained.

Sharron was an awesome instructor!!! She was very professional. She showed up early to set up for my daughter's paint and sip party. Sharron gave very detailed descriptions to help guide the amateur artists. Everyone enjoyed the personal feedback that was given. Sharron made our party a huge success. I would definitely recommend her services.
