Music is, and has always been, an obsession for me.
No one had to force me to practice, or transcribe, or listen. It's just something I love to do.
You can force yourself to learn music. But it's so much easier, and more fulfilling, when it's something that excites you; when you can't wait to pick up the horn.
Every student has their own version of this: a lens through which everything about music feels exciting and natural. My job as a teacher is to help you discover it.
For beginners, you might call this developing an interest or passion for music. Whether you're young or old, this is one of my favorite challenges as a teacher.
For advanced players, it may be more about finding your voice, or dealing with issues of ego, purpose, technique, etc. Having spent years studying with some of the best musicians in the world (Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, John Patittucci, Kenny Werner, George Garzone, and others), I combine lessons from the masters with my own approach to help ...

In English, Español ou Português! This is the time to practice jazz, pop, Brazilian tunes, as well as African and Latin ones. The training includes related technique to the style, pronunciation and melodic interpretation. We use the ipad/tablet to plan a special program of practice for you. Music and fun!
PROGRAM: Using vocal exercises from somatic techniques of body and voice, you will work on connecting your voice, breath and body movements. Practicing rhythms, melodies, harmonies, chords, you will develop your musicality and apply everything in your chosen repertoire. (Special call for Brazilian methods used to develop rhythm and musicality!) Using apps, videos, tracks, you will have amazing material to follow along, read lyrics, watch references and read your special instructions. Choose to add music theory and harmony, reading scores to your program if you wish. Special projects in seasons cycle will happen to motivate your study and give you opportunities to show your songs. ...
