About Diza
My passions are teaching, helping people and Architectural Technology. I have wanted to teach new skills to willing students since I was in high school, which is why I have been doing my best to get work which exercises that desire. I moved to new york in 2006 to study Architectural Technology, and before that I studied and graduated from kindergarten to high school in french, which is why I love teaching french. Even though french is my favorite subject I will be equally as happy teaching any other subject on my list.

I have an Associate in Graphic Design and Architectural Technology, I am going to be receiving a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology in June 2015 from CUNY'S NYC College of Technology, so I can continue towards seeking a Master's degree in the same field.

I try to make learning and teaching fun and interest
ing to keep my students interested, I hope you choose me for a fun learning adventure.

Thank you for reading,

Hadiza

I am currently a freelance Illustrator/Designer. During my lessons, you will learn story-telling techniques as well as both drawing and painting techniques. We will practice the steps in executing an illustration and focus on personal voice.

About Tayra
Hello! I'm an experienced Writer, Illustrator & Designer.

I've been working as a private tutor for about 5 years. I have experience tutoring in English language, grammar, math, history, science, and literature with a specialty in creative writing, essay writing, and visual arts. My students range from ages 5-18. I even have experience preparing high schoolers for college admission exams and procedures. I believe that there are multiple ways to learn and, therefore, I believe each of my students has unique needs and interests.

To make learning more exciting, I enjoy creating lesson plans that may be in a game form or involve interactive or conversational forms, if it means that the student can understand better.

Above all, I love literature, design, illustration, and writing and incorporate it into my everyday life. It really is
something I love doing, which is why I'm happy to teach my students and help them discover what they love about whatever it is they are interested in. Not sure? I'll help you figure it out. Being interested in multiple subjects is okay too!

Besides my love for design and literature, I love teaching. My proudest moments have involved my students accomplishing their personal goals, including becoming more proficient and confident in speaking English and getting into the college of their dreams with an amazing essay! Getting to know a new student is just as important to me as designing and preparing lesson plans.

I want to learn about you so that I can help you learn in whichever way you choose.

Throughout my years in school, I learned how important having the right teacher is. I believe that great presentation is the key to invigorating learning. I help my students find a fun way to reach their toughest goals.

Any questions? Don't be afraid to ask! :)

Tayra is awesome! She really helped me with my pronunciation and even helped me practice for a job interview. I struggle with my accent a lot even though my writing is good. She's very patient and checked in a lot with me to make sure our lesson plans were helping along the way. I also cancelled on her twice and she didn't mind! She let me reschedule! I originally purchased 5 lessons but seeing as to how much I have improved, I bought a couple more to help me with my SAT practice (I'm an ESL student). Tayra's the best! She also speaks Spanish so that was a plus!

Eli is fantastic and has a great rapport with kids. He seems incredibly knowledgeable, very response, nice and funny, and currently teaches in an amazing artists space. He challenged my daughter outside of her normal comfort zone in a super fun way and she immediately asked for more lessons after the initial trial. Will definitely continue with more lessons.

I was a professional illustrator for over five years, with work featured in 'Communication Arts' and Taschen's 'Illustration Now! Volume 1.' If you are keen to begin or upgrade your career, I can offer insights and feedback on your creative process, guiding you from assignment to concept to sketch to finished design. I've been a teacher for over 12 years, in a wide range of countries, so am ready to bring my knowledge and experience to your current projects. I can also assist with any issues surrounding your creativity (inner blocks or obstacles), which may be keeping you from reaching your fullest potential.

About Calvin
Hello! I want to give students time and space to practice the English they will need in their daily lives. The time we spend together isn't like school, it's just a conversation between friends.

I give a lot of feedback, so you can see what your habits are. In this way, you can be aware of your most common mistakes, so that you can correct them. Self correction is the key to steady improvement.

Learning isn't a job (or punishment) it's an opportunity. Let's meet and see if we can find your path to improvement together, as a team.
