Rhythm guitar, picking patterns and reading notes on the guitar are all taught.

About Kathryn

Kathy believes that variety is the spice of not only life, but also music. Raised singing folk music with a musical family (think accordions, guitars and lots of vocal harmonies), she learned guitar and piano at an early age, but began singing even earlier. Her quest to give the world the best

Amazing!!! A bright, joyful light!

My experience with Kathy has been great. It's been roughly five months and I learned a lot and I'm also much more confident to sing. Learning the right techniques is crucial. Kathy is extremely patient and she adapts the classes to the student goals and aspirations. English is not my first language and she was also always very respectful and patient in explaining everything twice or maybe three times until I get it.

Kathryn has a terrific demeanor, and provides clear, thoughtful suggestions for technique!

Xi is VERY knowledgeable of the art of horn playing. I understand what she is saying without difficulty. She knows what she is doing and her skill in teaching is above average. I’m so thankful to have found a teacher who respects where I am at 54 and how to help me get back in the game. The work is up to me of course, but she been very real and encouraging along the way. Well done!

"I had the good fortune of participating in two master classes led by Erik Chalfant. Erik is very knowledgable about the mechanics of vocal production, but what’s more is that he inspires as he teaches. He is engaging and energetic, and also very effective. He connects with his students, regardless of their level of expertise or experience. I have recommended Erik to several fellow musicians, and would again without hesitation."

"Avi has been teaching me for four months and somehow he has turned me into a semi-decent guitar player. I didn’t think it was possible to make so much progress so fast but it’s all due to Avi. I cannot imagine a better teacher. Knowledgeable, patient, kind and just has a way to take music from a page to the student’s hands. If I could give Avi six stars, I would."

He also gave me some lessons on notation and helped me write some progressions down so that I could practice between now and our next lesson. He listened to my goals and taught in a way that will help me meet them."

He's very patient and insanely knowledgable. Every lesson has been packed with a ton of information, practice, instruction and music theory. (He's also a very nice guy to have a conversation with.) I couldn't recommend Nick highly enough as an instructor."
