About Fred
The Number One most primal and crucial element for music is no different than the Number One most essential and crucial element in life in general: the answer is "Time". Just as our lives cannot escape time, what makes really great music is timing!

What defines a music teacher from a music performer? Example from a real life experience: I met my wife on the basis that we both were trumpet performers. She had trumpet lessons from the famous trumpeter Bill Adams, but he did not correct her problem she had to play upper register. She told me how she was really discouraged that she never could
play upper register on trumpet; so I being a researcher nerd, I went all over school websites and trumpet journals and every where I could to find the answer for which I did and upon which she finally could play upper register actually with ease now that I found the solution. So again, think hard about what makes a Good Teacher from a performer?

I am an egalitarian pacifist opera, classical & jazz music lover. My mentor was the late, Karl Haas who taught through the NPR program, "Adventures in Good Music". For a singer mentor, I look to John McCormack, John Denver, Tito Schipa, Giuseppe di Stefano, David Gates from Bread, George Benson, Daryl Hall, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Luciano Pavarotti.

We have been taking lessons with Fred Phillips for 4 years now. He is a very attentive teacher and cares for the advancement of his students. He looks for the strengths of his students and builds on them while improving on the other areas. I have loved seeing how much my daughter has grown musically. It has truly been a pleasure having him teach my daughter.

About Sara
Hi! My name is Sara. My studio began in 2000, teaching one violin student. I took a break and went to college to earn my A.A. in Music and my Piano Performance Certificate from Riverside Community College in California. I graduated Great Distinction and was on the Dean's list. I received many piano and academic scholarships. While in college I started my studio in Riverside California teaching Piano to an autistic child. I taught him 3 times a week and made exceptional progress. I enjoyed it so much I started teaching full time in 2008 teaching piano, harp, violin, voice, guitar, flute and cla
rinet. Soon I had 50 students and created a 501 (c) (3) non-profit music school. My students and I perform for the public, including nursing homes. The performances are important for the students progress as well as the Piano Guild where students are adjudicated by judges in a non competitive environment. Moving back to my hometown, I am excited to meet new students!

This was my daughter's first lesson. My daughter was pretty nervous at first, but Sara made us both feel very comfortable and at ease. She has such patience and grace and her kindness just flows from her. She puts a smile on your face and assures confidence within you that you can learn to play the violin. We look forward to many more lessons with Sara! Thank you Sara, and God bless you!

About Linda
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. I started playing piano at the age of 6 and continue to play today in a variety of venues.

I incorporate music theory and history into each lessons as well as composition. Writing their own piano music helps a student stay motivated to learn.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop a passion for music! I let each student progress at his or her own pace, in order to fuel t
hat passion. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and acknowledging even the small accomplishments. By finding out what inspires a student, I can tailor my instruction to keep them engaged and eager to learn.

Absolutely great with kids. A former school music teacher. She's very patient and has a good way of explaining so that kids understand. Also easy to work with regarding any appointment changes that arise. She also has ideas and little fun goals and competitions to motivate the students.
