Students who study with me are taught how to read music. Although I do teach some by ear, I mostly enforce the reading of rhythms and notes on a page. I do this so that they all of my students can be as prepared as possible if they choose music an area of music as a career.

Those who study mallet percussion with me get a chance to go more in depth with music theory as I incorporate in in each lesson as the student learns either an exercise or a solo piece.

About Alex

Alex was born May 31, 1987. Since both of his parents were band directors, he grew up in a very musically inclined family. When he was 15 years old, during his freshman year of high school, he started studying percussion. A year later he began studying under Chad Kohler and continued to do so until

I cannot express strongly enough how lucky we feel to have had Ard as our children’s piano instructor. We have two children, 9 and 11, and they had both been taking piano lessons for years before we moved to the Indianapolis area. While we really enjoyed the children's first teacher, Ard truly taught on another level. He is an absolute professional - reliable, accomplished, experienced.. Within the first few weeks, Ard was able to accurately identify my children's strengths and weaknesses and design individualized learning programs for both of them and they both improved greatly with his help.

Ard is just wonderful with the children. He was able to teach them at their level with an enthusiasm, kindness, and insightfulness that engaged them immediately. And, although Ard has a playful side with the children, he was also very serious about learning music, and there were very clear expectations for the children. The lessons were a perfect blend of fun and learning.

Ard is not only an incredibly talented musician, but also a passionate, energetic, and wonderfully interesting person. If we ever move back to the area, we would call on Ard again in a heartbeat.

We signed our 5 year old up for beginning lessons with Ardalan, and he was very engaging and patient with our son. Our son responded well to his method of teaching. We were looking for lessons to encourage his natural interest in piano until he was old enough to take lessons at his school, which is more convenient for us. We very much appreciated Ardalan’s support and enthusiasm he shared with our son.

My son has been playing piano for 9 years but he hit a wall with ISSMA state silver in piano solo last year, so our goal is achieve piano solo state gold this year. We made the switch to Ardalan didn't know what to expect just 2 months before ISSMA events and my son has earned ISSMA state distinction gold medal this year with Ardalan's help and hard working.

Ardalan's teaching method is eye opening to us after many piano teachers we have experienced in the past. He has been teaching my son many technical piano playing skills he desperately needs but no other teachers have ever taught him before. And Ardalan's performance preparation tips are so helpful for my son to perform in the real event.

Richard is so patient and knowledgeable. I am very happy with our lessons. Because of my background with classical guitar he wondered if the fact that he doesn't read music and I am renewing my mind back into it would not be a good teaching set-up. Not at all. I now have an electric guitar and the five years spent playing classical, now fifteen years ago, did not give me a good foundation for understanding music theory unfortunately. I have a genre I had already picked out fingerstyle electric and now with some thinking my way through the basics I did have I still need to learn just basic strumming etc. I understand what he is referring to in music so we still speak in the same key. Also and lastly my daughter has a severe seizure/dementia disorder that is very unpredictable and our caregiver's mom just passed away so there will be times when I just can't do a week/day. He has been very understanding. I am smiling from my soul because music is my healing path for difficult stuff I couldn't pay any doctor/therapist to even call me back for. Thank you so much for your assistance. Sincerely Teresa

I totally enjoyed my class with Geoff. We immediately started my lesson with tuning the ukulele. Then we went over the cords and strumming. I have been researching on playing the ukulele and his explanation on the strumming was a lot better than the book. He is teaching me how to play by listening to the notes which is great because I would be able to play the Hawaiian music for my hula classes. In addition, his studio is only a 5 minute drive from my house, which means I don’t have to deal with traffic.

"Ahmad is an excellent guitar teacher. I have been taking lessons from Ahmad at his studio for several months now and I'm continually impressed with Ahmad and very pleased with my progress on the guitar.

Ahmad has a relaxed and friendly attitude, but it's clear that he's exceptionally good at his trade. He has years of experience and teaching materials on hand, and I enjoy that Ahmad customizes what he teaches to each student's skill level and goals. He has developed a very effective teaching method that works well for me. I've had plenty of music education previously in my life and Ahmad quickly recognized that we could move quickly over the basics of reading music, rhythm notation, etc. and he's always prepared with an exercise or two for me to take home and practice to expand my skills further.

I found Ahmad online and called him and he was very professional and courteous leading up to our first appointment. He's got his teaching down to a science and Ahmad is very efficient with his administrative matters. I'm grateful for this because it leaves a lot more time for the guitar lesson itself.

Ahmad charges a reasonable fee for his service and I'm looking forward to learning from Ahmad for a long time to come."
