I am bubbly, outgoing, patient and FUN! I love sewing and teaching. If you have always wanted to learn to sew or take your sewing to the next level I am the teacher for you!
As an Army wife we could not afford certain luxuries like drapes. I learned to sew in order to make each of my houses feel like home. I also made bows and dresses for my daughter. Sewing has become my passion. I am also an early childhood educator, I love teaching.
Teaching sewing classes brings my two passions together.
Let’s start with the obvious first: when learning how to sew, you develop many skills such as understanding a pattern, operating a sewing machine or getting to grips with the specialist terms. But there’s so much more to sewing!
Sewing has taught me so many life skills and invaluable lessons:
Good things take time
Attention to detail
Sometimes things don't turn out the way you had planned or hoped
If you pick me as your sewing instructor I promise to teach you how to sew and how ...

I have a LOT of patience! All you need is the desire to learn to crochet. If you never have crocheted before, I will get you crocheting. If you want to learn, but believe you can’t learn because someone told you can’t learn to crochet, I will prove that you can crochet. If you have crocheted a long time ago, but forgot all of it or most of it, I will bring it back to you. If you already know the basics of crocheting, but don’t know how to get beyond the granny square, I can get you to the next level. If you know crocheting basics, but gave up because you make a lot of mistakes, I will show you tricks to avoid them and show you how to read your work so that mistakes are found sooner rather than later. If you know the basics, but want to learn a different technique such as color work, post stitches, or more, I can teach you. Do you have trouble reading patterns or charts, I can take the mystery out of them.
Because of COVID-19, I only teach online for now. I use Zoom for my teaching ...
I am extremely patient and determined to teach anyone with a desire to knit or crochet, no matter how high or low their individual learning curve seems to be. My 25 years or so educational and professional past experience is in industrial, exhibit, graphic, stage and jewelry design. My passion for
I looked up online lessons because the quarantine had started and I had purchased a sweater pattern that I really wanted to make, and thought i should be able to accomplish. Many people on Ravelry had complained about the pattern's shortcomings -- some had given up on it, though the people that did complete it, had great results - over 95 people posted pictures of their results, though some aren't quite like the advertised picture. I really wanted to make that sweater though, so I thought it was time to get some real lessons, and found Amy. The way she talked me through the pattern and other patterns, I totally got how to look at patterns and think about them. She lets you know her thought process so you can think it through yourself. Now, when i rip something out to do something over, it's not because i don't know what i'm doing so much as i now know what i'm trying to accomplish. The sweater is almost done and btw, looks just like the picture!! I've realized that it's a great idea to tell Amy whatever i'm thinking and she will give the best advice. Oh, and from the first lesson, she got me getting straight edges easily (now, it makes so much sense but at the time it seemed like a fluke whenever i had a straight edge!)

As a game, chess is traditionally divided into three phases: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. While all three are important, today I’m going to help you start out strong in the opening. When I first learned how to play chess, I played openings that really did not help me improve and left me with an awkward start to the game more often than not. Eventually, I adopted some of the openings that I will show you in this post and my rating skyrocketed. Opening Principles The first …

The end of the game has come. You have successfully out-maneuvered and outfought your opponent, conquering large swaths of the chessboard, and approaching that triumphal moment when you will topple the opponent’s king and declare that he has fallen---in other words, a checkmate (recall that “checkmate” is an anglicization of “shah mat”, Persian for “the king is dead”)… Only to realize that you don’t quite know how to finish the game, which inevitably results in a slapsti …
