Crocheting

I have been crocheting for almost 20 years, my mother taught me when I was a child, as early as 8 years old. At the time, it was a skill that I never expected to become so important in my life! Starting with basic stitches then later progressing to reading and writing my own patterns. I have taught myself multiple stitches and techniques for completing anything from clothing, to hand bags, to throw pillows. I have found that nothing is impossible when it comes to crochet. I would love to teach you what I have learned and taught myself and help build your confidence and skill set for crocheting. Whether you are a beginner who needs to learn how to chain or an intermediate who wants to learn a particular technique, I am here for you!

Want to learn to crochet but unsure how to get started? I'll provide the yarn, hook, and knowledge. You just come ready to learn! I provide a fun hands on experience full of affirming encouragement. There is no "can't" in my class. With over 20 years of experience there is no question I can't answer and no snag I can't help you figure out.

Laraya has been an amazing instructor! My 10 yr old daughter enjoys her teaching style and Laraya has a great temperament for working with kids. 

My lesson with Laraya was so much fun! Welcome to my best practices series. In this series we will learn a number of crochet tricks and techniques that will make your completed projects look more professional. This best practice teaches you how to create a straight seam when crocheting in rounds off of a flat circle foundation. This trick is useful for any project that you work in rounds, but more specifically for handbags, hats and baskets.
